Well said "functional art", and by artisan cutlery that just makes sense.

I'd never spend over 300 for a knife, but they sure know how to make you want to.

Knives and knife-shaped art are two different categories of product. Both legit, both cool in their own right. But different product categories. That is a gorgeous piece of knife-shaped art. I'd never carry it in my pocket, though. My using knife is a $10 back flipper bargain bin no name. It makes a great letter opener and cardboard box demolition tool, which is all I need from it.

I'd USE the $10 knife. (The $1000 knife would be preserved flawless until its resale value peaked on eBay.)

It's an odd one, too pretty to use, but practical enough that you should use it. Most of them will rot in a box, sold after the owner dies and that's a shame.

When I designed it I only had the first one in mind. That full timascus piece is all Artisans idea but hot damn do I love it.

Beautiful knife 😻 Love that last high polished knife! If I had the money, I buy it. Unfortunately, with the current economy and family needs, I couldn’t justify purchasing it. I envy the people who can buy it.

It’s definitely not hand polished but it’s nice anyway ( I would love to have the polished blade and the scales from the 200 $ version then it could still be a user friendly knife) imo

So for many of my hobbies I know the line where stuff turns into functional art, but not knives, even though I have carried a buck or SAK most my life. No idea what drives the value on knives, etc. I now have 3 under 30 that have worked for me, a Kershaw, Gordon, and hoping the new Ozark as well. Perhaps you could do a knife primer video on what creates a great knife and how to know if you are getting a good, great or bad deal. I know it’s not just the blade steel, well at least I think;)
@ThisJustIn813 ай бұрын
I love the first one. But there are a lot of knives out there pretty similar as far as looks. Maybe not better blade steel but i have the kizer militaw which is very similar and that design with the inlay handles is just everywhere now. That is not to say i think its a bad knife and for 200 its pretty good deal...what im trying to say is that im desperately trying to justify why i should get it but i cant atm. 😂

When i was young an old man let me know when i get a knife or a car or a fishing rod or… decide if it will be “to use” or “to have”. By the way the ozark trail knife is not on the wal-mart website.

I get that these knives aren't for me. I can't say much about whether the craftsmanship or materials are worth the price because I'm not qualified. but to me, that harlequin/oil slick/color dip design just looks like a gas station special, and if I'm going to drop a band or more on a knife, it had better look pretty dang classy
