I’m looking for a pool vacuum robot that will be able to clean an 18 x 36 vinyl and a slope to the bottom. The shallow is 12 feet long by 18 wide about 3 1/2 feet depth. The slope is 14 feet long down to 8 feet with a flat area of 5 1/2 feet hand heading to the top of 4 1/2 feet. My side walls from the deep climbs up to 4‘6“ which is steep on all three sides and all my corners are 4 feet radiuses. So I’m curious of what pool vacuum would work the best thank you.

You'd be safe with going with a cleaner like the Freedom for this size and type of pool. The Freedom is designed to handle more size than other cordless cleaners. However, I can't say for sure since I haven't been able to test it in a pool like yours, but the Wybot S2 moves pretty well and works for large pools. The Aiper S1 Pro I've heard has issues with more shallow depths.

Thanks for your help and I will keep that definitely in mind. I’m going to wait for prime day but I also see that prime has a $200.00 coupon now which drops it down to $799.00. Not sure to grab it now or do the waiting period? Thanks again!
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
That 200 dollar coupon is misleading... that's the normal price they charge for the cleaner on their site... just makes it look like a bigger deal that way lol. I don't expect them to ever really raise the price above the $799 mark so if by chance they have an even better Prime day deal on it, that'd be worth waiting for. Like, I don't think that 200 coupon will be going away soon.

Do you prefer the Polaris or the Liberty? Which one cleans better?
@imdefinitelydavid3 ай бұрын
In terms of cleaning alone, the Liberty comes with ultra-fine filters so it picks up smaller debris much better. But if you don't get a lot of small debris, I prefer the polaris, it climbs and moves better i would say than the Liberty. If the Polaris had an ultra-fine filter option it would win
@ricardomichaelchiurco59607 ай бұрын
Thank you for all those comparisons. I’m considering the Wybot S2 Pro. Waiting on Prime Day to see if there’s a significant price drop before purchasing. However I haven’t seen in any testing in-ground pools with vinyl liners where if it harms the liner in someway ( scratches,tears or premature fading ) when it is cleaning the waterline. I would like your feedback if I’m picking up the right vacuum robot for my pool. It is a 18*36 foot vinyl pool with a 3 1/2 foot shallow that goes out 8ft long and inclines down to 7 1/2 foot deep end with the drain. Has a 5 1/2 * 6 foot flat bottom then has 4 1/2 foot incline walls to the ledge then 3 1/2 foot wall straight up to the top. Thanks
@imdefinitelydavid6 ай бұрын
The Freedom or the Wybot S2 Pro should work for your pool. Both clean the waterline well but not super aggressive like some other cleaners I've seen before. The waterline for your vinyl lined pool should be safe with either of those two. If I had to choose, I'd wait it out for the S2 Pro. Has many more extra features than the Freedom.

But did it clean your tanning ledge?
@imdefinitelydavid6 ай бұрын
Yes it does! Sorry, this was one of my first videos and I didn't show more of it in the pool. My ledge has a wall that's straight up about 4.5 feet tall. On top of that ledge is shallow water about 14 inches or so and it's able to climb ontop and clean that fine.
@flippendad35326 ай бұрын
@@imdefinitelydavidI just tried the super s1 scuba and it’s not good. My pool has a 12 foot deep flat floor dive well and then a 3.5 foot deep shallow ledge. The s1 will only clean walls 10 feet high. Which robot do you recommend with that situation? I think the suction on the s1 is pretty weak as well.
@imdefinitelydavid6 ай бұрын
The Aipers are rated to handle 10 foot deep pools max I think. The Freedom is one of the few cordless cleaners that is designed to handle larger pools AND deeper pools up to 13 feet so that would be the one to consider. Other brands like the wybot or seauto also have a max of about 10 ft depth.

did you use this long term or just a week to review? looking for long term reviews
@imdefinitelydavid2 ай бұрын
I still have all my cleaners. Although I don't use it every week, I'd say I run every cleaner once at least every month. I know that's not the norm for anyone else but I have so many to choose from and to test. The Freedom works great as a plug and play. Just charge it, run it, and then take it out and repeat for the next run. It's built solid like other Polaris cleaners. But again, I haven't used it daily for the last few years. Good luck! Hope that helps

Thank you for the video. Does the polaris battery hold its charge, or does it drain faster when more debris is being sucked in?
@imdefinitelydavid11 ай бұрын
Thank you! The Freedom holds its charge well. Runs about the same time regardless of how much debris it picks up.
@dkoneify10 ай бұрын
Thank you for the response. Does the Polaris Freedom have the ability to clean a 20ft by 40ft pool?
@imdefinitelydavid10 ай бұрын
Yes! It should be able to clean a 20x40 ft pool fine. It can clean pools up to 50 ft.
@dkoneify10 ай бұрын
Once the Polaris is fully charged, can the cleaner stay on the charging base until the next time the unit needs to clean the pool? Or does the unit need to be removed from the charging base to prevent the decrease in the usage of the battery inside the Polaris?
@imdefinitelydavid10 ай бұрын
It can stay on the charging dock. Polaris actually recommends that you keep the FREEDOM charged between 80-100% on the actual dock itself, even during long term storage so I doubt it will degrade the battery over time. I've left my FREEDOM on the dock for weeks at a time sometimes and even then after running again it has the same amount of run time. Hope that helps!
@cysco55987 ай бұрын
how many cycles will the battery handle before it dies? can you leave it in your pool for a week and have it clean multiple times?
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
It just handles one full cycle really. You'd have to charge it after each run to be able to use it again. At least, if you want it to run another full cycle. And unfortunately no, the Freedom does not have a weekly timer to clean multiple times.

The website advertises 9.6 hours of battery life and it can clean your pool in 2.5 hours or less

Hello, nice review. Maybe you can help me with a question. I have searched all over online and cant find an answer. I have an above ground pool, in ground not allowed in my city. However when I move I plan to find a place with an in ground. With that said, I was wondering, can this be used with an above ground pool? I have not found any reason why you couldnt use any robot for an above ground vinyl pool. Thoughts? Any reason you see you couldnt? My only reasoning I could think of to not buy this for my above ground is the fact that there are plenty of cheaper options for above ground. But I really like the cordless option, the ability to clean the walls, and wifi.
@imdefinitelydavid11 ай бұрын
Hello! I have used a ton of cleaners in both pool types and haven't found any reason they can't be used from one to the other aside from yes, there are less expensive options for above-ground pools. But if you plan on moving to an in-ground then it would make sense! Lots of people I know are switching to cordless cleaners. You get the same performance of a corded but without the cord! A few years ago this wasn't the case.
@ChrisMiller-kl6ce11 ай бұрын
@imdefinitelydavid thanks for your input. I figured this much. Searching online surprisingly doesn't yield much results.

Polaris Freedom, Aiper Seagull, or Dolphin Premier. Which would you choose out of the three? I want ease of use and a clean pool. Pool has just been replastered.
@imdefinitelydavid Жыл бұрын
If you want to base it off solely on ease of use and how well it cleans, my vote would be for the Premier. Premier has a scheduled timer so you can leave it in the pool a week at a time and it'll turn itself on. You really only have to check it to empty the debris and to re-set the weekly timer. It actually cleans the best out of the 3 as well. And it has the most filter options including a giant leaf bag if you get a lot of leaves. It can be a little heavy though taking it out of the pool but you won't be doing that often really compared to the other two which you take it out after each use AND you need to recharge them. Also keep in mind since it's corded there will be a power cord somewhere near the pool. If you have pets or children it might get in the way. Aside from that, Premier would be my choice

I have an L shaped inground vinyl liner pool wit a shallow on one part of the L and shallow leading to the deep end on the other part of the L. Pool is aboyt 16x40 feet. I really want to get rid of the cord and this Polaris freedom sounds like a good choice for large pool. What do you think? Thx
@imdefinitelydavid9 ай бұрын
For a vinyl lined pool I would always look at how aggressive the waterline scrubbing is. Even though most cordless cleaners say they're safe for ALL pool types I've heard stories of some damaging vinyl lined pools because of the aggressiveness. The Freedom is a good choice in that aspect. Also take a look at the Aiper Scuba S1. You get active waterline scrubbing but not super aggressive like other cordless cleaners.

@@imdefinitelydavid Do you think the aiper scuba s1 would handle a pool my size? I have a pretty large pool at about 30000 gallons.

So, you didn't test the LIFI remote that allows you to send basic commands to the device while it's still in the water. And you didn't show us anything about the app. Are you planning on addressing either of these two issues?
@imdefinitelydavid8 ай бұрын
Hello, The LiFi remote was added later on during the year to the Polaris Freedom "Plus" version. At the time I filmed this, the only version available was the standard version, which is the same cleaner except without a LiFi remote. So, I did not have the opportunity to test or use that. However, from past experience from other cleaners with physical remote controls, they work really well with low latency. So I would assume that's the same case with the Plus version. As for the app, I apologize. This was one of my very first videos, and I did not showcase that. I felt like it was a very simple and basic app to use so I didn't include it. Nowadays with my new videos, I always show the app and use if it's available. Someday if I get enough interest and time available, I would love to go back and re-shoot this one as well as a few others. Unfortunately, at the moment, there are so many new cleaners that I'm backed up.

To be honest, this video was one of my earlier ones and yes, I should have listed the drawbacks to the cleaner. My new content is much better. I do eventually plan on going back and re making that video but am currently busy with new cleaners and also a full time job lol. But in short, the real drawbacks to this Freedom is the lack of an ultra-fine filter and the lack of a weekly scheduled timer function. Hope that helps!
