Very informative. I'm assembling one this week. I found the oil pickup screen but couldn't figure out where it went as the case was bolted together but I knew it was important. Your video was the only one I found that showed it in assembly

I thought both bottom and top end videos were very informative. Thank you for taking the time to do both videos. I am very close to starting a 2013 rzr rebuild that has a serious knock, I assume rod bearing is out. You did a lot of talking and explaining things, kind of what to watch out for which is very helpful. I could have done without the music as I found it a bit annoying after a bit. Need help. I have a 2012 Polaris 800 (600 miles) hard to crank over to point where starter burnt. Removed spark plugs and it turns over easily. Compression 175psi Fuel 45psi. Spark at both plugs. Thank you. Enjoy this video very much. Your details are great.

Wow ! 175 psi ...... sounds to me like one of the exhaust valves isn't opening, you may want to remove the valve cover and crank it over with the spark plug out (unplug the fuel pump as well) and watch the rockers range of movement, I'm betting its going to be the cam,push rod or rocker is not in proper position. LMK what you find ?

I’m about to rebuild an 800 from an 06 Sportsman that died when the oil pressure relief device stuck. The crank has a little discoloration like it got hot but there is absolutely no play in the con rod bearings and they feel nice and smooth. You think I’ll be ok reusing this crank? Expensive part for sure.

That "Discoloration" or blue appearance is normal even on brand new Assemblies, I believe it's a result from the pin installation process during assembly. Sounds like your Crank is still in good shape. Just be sure you get that pressure relief plunger to "free up" and lift off it's seat freely otherwise proper oil delivery will be a problem.

@@usatvgrizzly I appreciate the reply. That’s good news, I’ll put the original crank back in it. I’ve got the PRD dowel freed up and lightly honed the port it rides in with a nylon .308 bore brush. I’m going to try the "Pressure Guard" device that’s supposed to prevent this from happening again. Any experience with these devices? Great videos by the way.

A good way to verify the P.R.plunger is working properly is to install the spring and cap on top of it, then remove both to check if the plunger will come out with a magnet stick or invert the case, it should come out without any resistance.

when you put it back on the macine how did you refill the coolant system?

Great video! I have a 03 700 sportsman and did the top end and when i put back together And added fluids i am getting milly oil. Seems like antifreeze is mixing. I only did the top end and never had that issue. Could it be a gasket?

Gasket possibility if it wasn't mixing before you did the top end ? Then definitely a gasket, did you use a factory polaris gasket set ? If not ive seen many "after market" gaskets fail due to quality and material issues.

There's only 2 locations for the oil /coolant to mix. 1) the cylinder base to engine case ( sometimes the base gasket gets "rolled" or pushed during the cylinder install.) 2) water/oil pump shaft seals,
