Will this work on California cars? I’ve been told the California cars have encrypted ECUs

That's weird my pro r sport the speed limit comes in at 93 mph right out of the box. I put 250 miles on it and broke it in correctly never getting pass half throttle. Changed my oil and filter. And took it out for about another 100 miles before I did my first W.O.T test and hit 92 and have been at 93 mph any and every time now. My buddies has the premium and his limits out at 90 mph just kinda weird how from one machine to another how much difference there can be in the mph limit..... Have a great day.... Bob.,.

Bob, thanks for your input! I believe it is likely due to the clutching. Even if both are bone stock something may vary in the clutching adjustment. Or potentially tire size/pressure.

@@bobc8694that’s really interesting. Is it the same part number on each car or are they actually intentionally different parts

With all mew polaris ECU, ECM 'S THERE is many of them that are the same part number. But have a completely different tune programmed into them. So when you buy a computer for a xp1000 or a tail 1000 you could have the same part number on the parts. The reason for that is when you buy the computer from polaris it's what is referred to as a no start computer. So if you take it right home and plug it in. The machine will not start!!! Why because there's no tune in it yet it's empty!! So you need too have a dealer flash the tune into the computer for your make and model. So if you have a 2016 and have a new oem computer to install when they hook up the Machine to polaris Digital wrench or Digital wrench 2... and it will load the newest tune in the computer of the machine. So in 2016 the turbo machines had a stop ride recall and stop sales order. This was done for a few reasons. One thing was they flashed a new tune into the machine..after that was done if you lined up with a 16 turbo machine that didn't have the new flash done to it. It was faster than the one with the updated tune.. they changed the timing curve and fuel map to try to cool the turbo down some.. this was only part of those updates... So if you put a used on on it will start 99.9 percent of the time!! But a new oem computer doesn't have a tune in it from the factory. I didn't say 100 percent. Because I have friends that own a polaris dealerships or work at one. And they have had oem computers come in that had the updated pre programmed in it all ready. There's a few reasons for this to happen. But 99.9 percent of the time you need to flash the first tune into the new oem computer..so that's one reason that different limits can be different. Also polaris does give a plus of minuse specks on almost every thing now of days.. Sorry if I may have missed the conversation and this statement doesn't have anything to do with the subject. I didn't go back and refresh my memory by reading the original message. For some reason I can't get to it for some reason. So going off memory. I Believe I have given you the correct information for the conversation at hand.. if I didn't I'm sorry for that. Still good to know that the new oem computer doesn't have a tune in it from the factory....have a great day....Bob......

@user-rf3fi2tz3y thay make a ECU that will except 2 plugs that can be plugged into it. It looks the same as the other one that you have that can actually a except 2 wiring harnesses to plug in. The other one only has 1 harness plugged into the ECU The other one is a blank spot on those. That spot on yours has a harness plugged into both places on the ECU.. SO THOSE Ecu's fit a bunch of different machines. And the reason why they do this is less parts to make or stock. So take one ECU that the only difference is the program inside the box.. and sell the same part to fit many different models and years without the program included. So a no start ECU is here... after installing the new parts the machine gets hooked up to polaris Digital wrench. And the you need to put all the information from the machine you are working on in my laptop thin hit flash and some take 3 to 4 minutes to load others can take up to a hour. After that is done shut off the key for 2 ,3 minutes to power down. And it should start right up.. If you have been working on it for a long time and the key has been on and of a lot. Sometimes it might be a little bit harder to start. But after that all should be good.. so I know that you can find some different part numbers on some of these oem ECU's but in many cases they are the exact same part inside and out with the only difference is the tune (program) that has been flashed into it from the factory. Now I have had some atv's that use a single plug into them and the second spot on the ECU that a second plug would go is blocked off. But to look at it sitting on the bench you would think that they are the same until you look at it closely. I hope that this has helped you out if you still have any questions, since my messages are hard to understand most of the time. Lol. So if you call my shop and leave your name and phone number I will be happy to call you back within 24 hours. I manly work at night so we you leave a message let me know how late in the evening is ok to call you back. The only day we are closed is wensday open the rest of the time 9 to 5 and 10 to 3:00 on Sunday. And if we are closed leave a message on that machine and I'll get it and if it not to late I'll call you back or the next day....Bob....
