@Micheal153 disagree. Break in fluid would be the most important. Want to ensure you get as much oil with metal particulates out as possible the first change.

Thank you for the Video. Very helpful. I wanted to share a useful trick I figured out with the Demand Drive Fluid fill plug. For some reason my plugs were 5/16 not 8 ml. I took a 5/16 allen wrench with the rounded end, cut off the bend and made a long bit out of it. Using a 5/16 socket and extension connected to my homemade bit, It was actually quite simple to get the plug out and back in. I will share a picture if I can figure out how to post it.

Sportsman 570 is a decent ATV some of the design and engineering things are a bit strange like on my 2015 and the battery location totally a bad design. Oil filter impossible to reach with hand due to coolant hoses all over it. I'm sure by 2021 they have redesigned these issues but they make you wonder about the people designing things. As for the engine my last one went 11,000 miles before I rebuilt it. I always use polaris lubricants. Bullitproof

Change oil every ten hours. Four strokes like clean oil. Machine will last long time. It’s no Honda, however extra hp the small twin pushes, this will break oil down faster. MX machines are similar to formula one motors except singles. Change oil often, they will last.

hello, i just finished doing the service and noticed that the crush washer (you mention it at 6:19 time of your video), I forgot to install it. I did not realized that the previous one fell off during the flushing of fluids till i was relocating the old oil. is it ok to run the atv without it? is it a necessary component? where exactly did this go? was it during the filter replacement? does it go with the differential fluid drainage? thanks.
@rudijones
@rudijones 2 жыл бұрын
It goes on the oil drain plug. It creates a seal so no leaks. I guess if you didn’t install it and it’s not leaking it’s probably ok but just keep an eye on it. They include a new one with the oil change kit.

someone stripped my front diff. drain on a 550 i bought, so i drilled thru and used and easy out size 3\8 and swapped them , same size plugs. so i found a bolt that fits the hole i drilled and used Teflon tape on it and hammered it thru the hole for a temp fix. lol ... works so well i dont think i need a new plug lol. we will see.

How did you get the dipstick out so easily, I was worried about ripping it out, is it supposed to twist or just yank it out?

The dipstick is threaded in. You have to turn it counterclockwise about 4 turns before you can lift it out.

Boy do I wish those dipsticks were just O-ringed and able to be pulled out. It's a pain in the ass getting your hand into that tiny hole, and the damn thing never seems to want to thread back in, either. Very awful dipstick location and design.

Approaching 25 hrs on my '22 sportsman 850. I have not put in 4wd at all. Do I need to change front dif fluid??
@rudijones
@rudijones Жыл бұрын
The front diff still spins even when in rear wheel only drive. There is no torque imposed on it from the transmission so there is much less wear. In reality, 25hrs is nothing crazy but keep in mind that some of the greatest amounts of metal particles and wear makes its way into the fluid when a diff., trans., engine, etc. is in its first hours of operation as it is wearing off machining imperfections and slight imperfections in mating surfaces so the initial fluid service interval is one of the most important in the whole life of the machine.

@@lxdesign1 I don’t find the lack of power steering to be a big deal. Don’t get me wrong power steering is awesome as it feels effortless when driving but I just didn’t feel that I needed it. I’ve never been in a situation where I felt like power steering would be needed. I use this on a farm and from time to time on twisty trails in the back, that’s where I notice it most.

@@rudijones thanks so much... the machine I get will be for trail riding, and off-season access at Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve, in the off season, the trails can get sloppy. My current machine is the Yamaha Kodiak 400 - but the rear differential went out on it back in the fall 2020 - gears are all chewed up. I like the pulling power of the 570, as I have a large flat deck trailer that I can haul wood, or my snowmobile with.
@floobertuber
@floobertuber Жыл бұрын
@@lxdesign1 I used to run a '96 Magnum 425 (no EPS) to plow my driveway in winter. In 2017 I switched to a 2016 Sportsman 450 HO EPS. For low-speed, tight quarters, heavy work use -- like snow plowing! -- having EPS is the best thing since sliced bread. That said, I don't know if I would spend the extra money if I were just wide-open trail riding the thing. Twisty, hilly trails in the woods, or muddy stuff... then yeah, EPS would be a bonus... but on open fields, fire roads, and long railroad rights-of-way, not really needed. Also, from a maintenance perspective, having EPS does make working inside the heart of the frame harder still, and it's tight in there already. On mid-20-teens models, they stuck the damn starter battery down in there, very much hard to get to and blocking things. Of course, having the EPS unit down there too doesn't make it any easier.
