Polaris Sportsman XP ESP 550 transmission tear down part #2

Happy New Year everyone. HOpe everyone had a safe & fun filled holiday season. Well in this video we tear down this Polaris sportsman XP ESP 550 transmission to see what else is wrong with it. To my surprise there was nothing else wrong. I ordered all my parts from partszilla.com I also bought my digital service manual from myatvmanuals.com

I think, I would just go ahead and replace that cam gear. It would suck to put it all back together. Just to pull it apart again.

Was wondering if you found where the metal slithers on the magnet came from.

No I actually didn't. I disassembled everything & checked all washers,Spacers ect... everything looked perfect. But I did find out that the previous owner did some work on thr transmission so my guess is that it was left over from them unfortunately.

Can you change the input shaft without removing the whole transmission?

No you wouldn't be able to split the cases in half because they are sealed really tight & trying to clean it all & then get everything to lone back up would be absolutely horrible to try to do..
