I'm not sure what criteria you use to decide the tactics for this fight. And I'll admit I don't know anything about elite dangerous, but... There is no reason the Polaris would not have a Superhornet Heartseeker instead of a standard hornet. (and if you say the heartseeker is not in game yet, you can kit a SH out with that loadout. So really, it is) So, the Polaris has a heartseeker, which DOES NOT fly out to meet the condors in the middle, takining damage, it lures them into range of the Polaris' multiple turrets, where it can pretty much one-shot them as their shields are whittled down by the Polaris. It can then occupy the corvette's point defense and successive condor waves allowing barrage after barrage of size 10 torpedos to clobber the corvette. I think your scenario throws the game to the corvette.

The only chance the Polaris has is if it uses its better sensors to full effect and stays out of the corvette's sensor range. The corvette's standard sensors can get a clear lock at 5 km and can get a general direction bellow 15 km, very pitiful in comparison to the Polaris. I'm sorry to say but no torpedoes are getting past the point defence, it takes dozens of torpedoes traveling in a non linear path to get past one point defence, with two there's just no game. To me if the corvette gets a sniff of the Polaris it's done for, although if a pilot is aware of the corvette's critical flaw it can at least force a draw.

Nice vid but the Polaris fires 4 torps per shot and the missiles are fired at the same time with multiple missile lock launches as well. I would love to see another match.

And the Polaris has long range radar and very fast in strafing runs or retreat. Ideally the Polaris would launch a terrapin to find and electronic warfare to cover the Polaris jumping in at speed firing and leaving before the other ship knew they were being hit them. IMHO. I do not know the sensor capabilities of the corvette the Polaris would fight but the Terrapin should be about to at least reduce the enemies capability with electronic warfare. If surprised the Polaris would run, fast and then turn to hunt.

@@MaculaPravus the Fed corvette uses a Tachion pulse for it's sensors so any form of electronic warfare is useless when it comes to detection. EWM are extremely effective against turreted weapons so depending on the load out of the corvette that could render almost half it's fire power useless as the turrets simply fail to get a look on, if it's using the largest weapons possible for all it's sharepoints tho then EWM doesn't matter as they would all be fixed. As far as agility goes the Vet is the most agile Large class ship in the game, it's actually able to keep up with some of the Heavy fighters and gunships so I would seriously doubt the Polaris would be more Agile. As far as speed goes the Vet has two different types of FTL, A jump drive and a warp drive, the jump drive allows it to almost instantly jump from one star system to the other while the Warp drive allows it to move trough a star system quickly and to warp back into real space immediately on top of any designated target. As far as the point defense goes frankly those torpedoes don't have a chance, the point defense is ment to intercept entire Swarms of missiles , how ever this is only true if there is an extensive enough coverage, most people only really protect the front of their ships as the vet's agility almost guarantees that you will always have the enemy to your front, and the number of utility spots required would be rather costly as said spots could better be used for any number of sensors, shield busters, Interdictors or other such gadgets. So a surprise torpedo barrage could be rather dangerous.

Like most of Star Citizen's large ships, the Polaris has no pilot controlled weapons. For this match to take place you'd have to have 10 friends willing to sit in manned turrets

Polaris is going up in size but is still under 200m. No real number yet but safe to say it’ll be more ship. So I honestly feel that the larger polaris would still have an edge on this one. With 4 torpedo tubes it would engage at range against the federals beam weapons. With a stealth torpedo ship in the hanger that would increase the pressure on the fed which i think should only rely on its beam weapons since the fighters should be useless against the polaris anti fighter screen and durability. Lets pretend the stealth ship gets a surprise torpedo in while they search for the expected fighter they would be tasked with. If the fed isnt torpedo to shit yet the regenerating fighters could potentially run the anti fighter missiles dry and allow a win for the fed through attrition. Assuming the feds pdc’s can destroy incoming torps. The fed would be tasked with destroying the torps with its pdc’s and to search for the stealth ship, or else lose to the polaris. There are some conflicted features of each universe but keeping the Polaris’s impenetrable defense and targeting systems and the feds ability to produce condors that do more dmg than expected, i’d say the fed will win majority of the time due to limited missiles and torpedos. Destroy the stealth ship and lock down the torps with the condors..sorry favorite ship lol.. but only in knock down drag out type battles xD

New info, the polaris will have a command center with tacticians onboard as well as two fighters not one, with the ability to repair and rearm them which you left out. May be the polaris's fight now.
