No disrespect to Jose Feliciano, but how did this get approved? I agree from comments below, "...I'll be watching you?" Really? Out of Stings entire library of incredible songs, this one was chosen for Jose Feliciano? I would really love to know the true meaning behind this selection. As some comments said, Jose must not like Sting too much, or is it "You better perform this song our you won't be involved in this event." My opinion, its at 2:28 when Sting looks down then covers up a smile, is when he realized the song choice. Before that it was just a man watching his song being preformed..."differently."

Between the 2-minute 30-second and 3-minute timestamp mark, the camera focuses on the Crown Princess of Sweden dancing/swaying to the music in her seat. Her husband is seated between her and Sting. Sting is 26 years older than her. She was not even 6 years old when "Every Breath You Take" was first released. Incidentally she will be known as the queen monarch, The Queen Victoria of Sweden after her father King Gustav's reign ends. Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince William of UK are 5th cousins whose one common pair out of 32-pairs of great-great-great-great-grandparents was Queen Victoria & Prince Albert.

Not so much that it's bad but this song is simple. They tried to over complicate the arrangement with the fingerstyle guitar, the orchestra and the over the top back up singing. It's too much it just doesn't fit the song.

@Guitarmuse17 жыл бұрын
Regarding the common misinterpretation of the song, he(Sting) added: "I think the ambiguity is intrinsic in the song however you treat it because the words are so sadistic. On one level, it's a nice long song with the classic relative minor chords, and underneath there's this distasteful character talking about watching every move. I enjoy that ambiguity. I watched Andy Gibb singing it with some girl on TV a couple of weeks ago, very loving, and totally misinterpreting it. (Laughter) I could still hear the words, which aren't about love at all. I pissed myself laughing."-Sting

We've ALWAYS called this the stalker song!
@Acoustic-Rabbit-Hole2 жыл бұрын
It's written in the blueish A- flat major; the cold key of death itself. // Also, I just looked up that performance of Andy Gibb on the weekly Solid Gold show, and I was shocked that indeed, they tried to sing it like a love song, but also they sang in E-flat, which is a bright, sort of yellow-orange key to my ear. That key is reserved more for songs about awakening, or coming to a certain realization. Again, even that key did not fit the original intention of the song. (The best love songs are in C. Red. Like a rose.) I feel like Sting's "Every Breath You Take" is borderline GOD "watching you." A-flat. Hard, cold truth. Blue. Also, round i shape. Unto itself. But, yes, I can certainly dig the "stalker" reference that was made.
@jacksonhazeltine92912 жыл бұрын
@@Acoustic-Rabbit-Hole With the way that you describe these keys and notes, I have to ask: Do you have synesthesia? This is a condition where some senses mix in different ways, sometimes along with emotions. In your case, it seems that certain sounds are associated with certain colors.
@Acoustic-Rabbit-Hole2 жыл бұрын
@@jacksonhazeltine9291 Amazingly, no, I do not have synesthesia. I have a sort of perfect pitch. Where I can hear the different textures of each individual note name. For example F# sounds wobbly and very detatched, where as next to it, G suddenly becomes smooth and fluid. What I began to realize is that the energies of the notes are entirely spectral. Beginning with C as red. The great love songs are always in C. But, no, I have never seen any flashes of color or shapes. It simply makes most sense that, not only is the fludity of G best fitted for Aquamarine/Turquoise color, so does tear-drop shape fit G as well. And A loses the tail and becomes a cold sphere: Blue. But the real secret is that, i ACQUIRED perfect pitch. Simply by making careful sound observations about the texture of each notes. If you write it down and do certain comparative exercises, most anyone can learn pitch identification. You can check out some of my Musicolor charts that are embedded in my videos on my Acoustic Rabbit Hole channel here!
