More info on the "Fonji" (Up)
"Here's an official 2 part silent tutorial for the Fonji. Well, half of Fonji... The half more people struggle with. I'll release the other half another time.
Fonji "up" is named so because you are reaching up, and not because you're traveling up. In fact, most people travel down unless you're super pro. This is "up" from half flag to shoulder mount.
I've never released this before because:
1. There are a lot of methods to teach this and it gets complicated quickly. 2. It has a lot of potential for errors, and without the proper basis, it's hard to be sure I'm providing the best progressions for everyone.
3. I love to teach everything without a spot. This is a move, though, where a good spot can help tremendously.
4. Some people may have anatomy that makes this very challenging.
5. People ask me to teach Fonji all the time, but I personally don't think much of doing it. People just assume I love it by association.
All that said, this is with the proper prerequisites, quite progressive.
