The addition of a snowplow blade, for the times that ice and snow slow you down at home 4. I had a 1990. I loved it! We drove it daily, trips, the woods, everywhere and anywhere! But gosh dang it was loud inside, despite much effort to make it quiet. On the highway on road trips you’d have to shout to carry a conversation. I revived it after it having sat in a field 20 years. I drove it a week, then it blew a head gasket. Discovered it had a demolished piston, probably why it got parked. I put one new piston, a set of rings, head gaskets of course in. All while STREET PARKED with a set of hand tools. I wasn’t allowed to use the driveway at our apartment. Took me 30 weeknights straight, no clue how I didn’t get towed this was in an upper middle class suburban neighborhood on Long Island. I miss it a lot, I traded it for a 1969 Buick Electra to a guy with pockets deep enough to restore it. I do my own work but this thing had rust in the A pillar, rust in the window seal areas, rust in the little metal area over the tailgate. Frankly I didn’t want to fix it, those are all pain in the a 3 layer spots.

The story’s gonna start to sound fake the more I add to it but it’s the truth. I worked 9-5 and then on this 5:30 to 9:30. It was July so I had light. The hand tools in question were a set of harbor freight metric sockets, they didn’t even fit half the nuts and bolts well. I borrowed a ring compressor and a hone from a shop in town. When the thing got back together it was so tight, I went though 3 warranty starters the first month. But then, smooth sailing! I put 36,000 trouble free miles on a motor I bandaged up in the rig, on the street, on my back most of the time. Knowing what I know now, and how much road dust must have got in the bottom end, it’s something of a miracle. Heck I reused the rod bearings.

The turbo hydromatic 400s in those early Jeep's had a Buick bolt pattern. I took my 150k mile trans, put a shift kit in it and when I put a BB Buick in mine, sand dragged it for years never let me down! Sometimes I miss it more than my 69 Camaro..uh..er..maybe a tie... 😂

My dad had used it for years, snow plowing before I was given it. I remember him bragging how he could push 2 feet of wet snow uphill. Lol) By the time I got it it was completely wore out.

I had a 1987 Grand Wagoneer, 9 MPG. Up hill, down hill, around town, highway 9 MPG. Crap mileage but I miss it every day. Wife ran out of gas, haha, in a snow storm and the jeep got rear ended. The 87 had a Chrysler 360 and it could pull down a house. Love your channel.
