I love polenta and this is one of my favorite preparations. It’s delicious with Gorgonzola and cabbage, but you can vary the filling however you wish. I love vegetables with polenta but you can treat this cake like a pizza and stuff it with sliced grilled sausages, mozzarella, and some tomato sauce to moisten the filling. I also like using a leftover ragù or a combination of other sautéed vegetables with the potato-and-cheese base. Save the extra sauce and serve it on the side when slicing the torta di polenta. Buon Appetito!

Looks delicious. My mind so often crosses to fusion of Italian/Mexican cuisine, I wonder about some tart, spicy salsa Verde with each layer. May need a different cheese?

This looks delicious. I have my doubts that I will be able to slice the polenta into three pieces and have them remain intact. Perhaps only two layers for me.

Cabbage and polenta is a great combo that we use in the Trentino as well. Does anyone know what type of cheese Lidia used on top?

Gorgonzola. She said in the video you could use any soft cheese, like Fontina, etc. I think the more flavorful ones would be best, like what she used.
