Polestar 3 • dB noise test

Just drove a P3 the other day. It is very, very quiet compared to the P2!

@@spl1011 Yes. 10-15dB should be expected between any type of Polestar 2 when compared to any type of Polestar 3.

@@MrAnonymozz No. The 2024 cars don't have ANC. That is coming with the MY2025. 😎👍

The 2025 model will have a automatic noise cancellation system - I wonder what that will sounds like.

The noise cancelling is handled through the headrest speakers. So it wouldn't change the results of his test unless he placed the microphone a few inches in front of the passenger headrest while he drives. Only the driver and passenger get the noise cancellation, as those are the only two headrests with speakers in them.

My personal experience was that the P3 is very quiet on the road.

For more constant readings, without them, jumping all over, set the meter on slow, using the fast/slow button. The readings will be more steady. Great to see thePolestar 3 being much quieter than the 2.

was the meter using A or C weighting? It will make a difference for road and tire low frequency rumble.

@@petehelme7714 It does bot seem to have those settings. But this is a simple "compare" test. Not a lab test. If you have a Polestar 2 with 20" wheels......then you know how silent a Polestar 3 can be. 😎👍

Noisy as hell! I've seen non premium cars with combustion engine quieter than this one. Usually is somwhere around ~65db @90km/h

Did you watch the whole video? First part was from Polestar 2. P3 in this video was ~60db at 90km/h

Hmm. Maybe, but I don't think so. Have you driven the Polestar 3 and base your comment on that or why do you think so? EVs often sound a bit "louder" because they are so quiet. 😅
