They don’t tend to like going from light into dark, because they can’t see clearly, however they’re also herd animals, so usually if you can get one to go thru, the others will follow.

Why would any person was to walk through the horse box? Most of the time it looks to have an abundance of manure and horse urine. My Granny had a big farm when we were young and even the best you could inevitably one of us would step in the manure that stuff is a pain to get off shoes.

It's nothing to do with wanting not to leave the yard John, it's likely to be much more to do with preferring to be in a comfy stable rather than having to carry a hefty bloke around and face a load of tourists.

46:48 middle horse on it own of the the Lifeguard group was the "naughty" horse. He was a bit skittish as he came through the yard to the tunnel. About the maybe 🤔 new R-B horses. I have a theory R&B horse are all marked clearly on hooves. But the choice of troopers, men and horses chosen from 3 squadrons. The Lifeguards smudged hoove numbers and choice of trooper men and horses from across the 3 squadrons. 2nd part is they're chosen by maybe names on a hat. Or the C of H saying "enie meanie mineie mo" or there is a proper discussion between officers, C of H and the NCOs who will come. My money on the C of H using " enie meanie minie mo" to choose the personal to come. This is to keep you in on your toes while you work out which horse is which, whilst the troopers place bets on how long it takes you. 😂

For those people who comment thinking these horses are mistreated in any way- our kind narrator does inform people they change out the guard horses every hour and if the horse decides he doesn't want to work anymore it only takes 3 attempts to get them to cooperate before handlers will change the horse out. They do not let the horses stay out longer than necessary and care greatly for them.

Hi John , just a quick answer to the lights and decorations at Raffles Hotel . The owners are of the dual Hindu/Sikh religion and it is the Hanuman Jayanti festival on 23rd April so they’re possibly preparing for the event..🎉
