Adam Sandler did it in the movie Billy Madison when he yelled out really loud in that high school chemistry class “NO I WILL NOT HAVE SEX WITH YOU! Another thing cops will do is to tell somebody to stop doing something they’re not doing in the first place, to create the appearance in the minds of others that they are doing it, otherwise the cop wouldn’t be telling them to not do it. For instance, they will tell people that they need to lower their voice when the person isn’t talking loud in the first place. This and give them a veneer of justification to accuse the person of disorderly conduct. Another example is where they will escalate a situation themselves to justify their actions. An example of this is where the cops will continually tell somebody to just relax, when the person is relaxed. While the cops are saying this loudly they will get closer to the person and then arrest them and claim that they resisted arrest and were disorderly. They manufacture a crisis that gives them the justification to respond to the crisis so they can come out looking like the hero. They will claim to be the victim and the hero at the same time.

There is NO good reason for an officer to be able to turn off a body cam. None. If there are legally protected images or conversations, the police attorneys can redact them before piblic release, and the public can sue in court to get a judge to decide if the information redacted was subject to an exemption from release under federal and state freedom of information acts. Turning off body cams is highly suspicious behavior and leads me to conclude that officers are about to knowingly break the law.

Only early studies where body worn cameras were implemented show a slight change in police accountability. If you follow that data through for a couple of years, that trend reverses itself. The reason is that cops learn to work around the camera. The camera will fall off during a confrontation, or be pointed away from the action, or the officer's arm will obstruct the camera's view, etc. Conversely, studies have found that body camera footage is overwhelmingly used to defend police behavior, rather than indict it. So the cameras on the cops are there to protect the cops. It's very important that everyone understands that.
@AaronAlso2 жыл бұрын
I have personally seen several cases of friends where the body cam was cut and edited to show only the evidence that the State thought helped their case and no other footage was ever release to the defense. Even if it only is missing for a short time, the cops case is invalid. Also, if a citizen is injured while cops are present and the cops do not have bodycam footage of it, the cop(s) should be, at a minimum, found guilty of criminal negligence and should lose their jobs and pension.
