I`m an ex military driving instructor of some 22 years service (2 Para) and I think legally he`s in the right. I might be wrong as I stopped being a DI in 97 and the laws may have changed. If there are no injuries, he can leave the scene but he has a week to inform the local police of the incident at his local police station. HOWEVER, why he would leave the scene without at least putting a note on the vehicle with his contact details is beyond me. I suppose he could say that he didnt do so as it may blow off the car or there was rain due and therefore his details could be lost. I`m sure the copper knows that the car park is probably covered by CCTV additionally, he KNOWS that there is a bloke with a camera giving him grief for the incident, so I`m sure he knows what he can and cant do and therefore is probably quite correct to move on. The law does (or did) allow this. SCENARIO, your wife is approaching full term in her pregnancy and youre rushing her to hospital. You fuck up and hit a parked car and no one is killed or injured. Are you REALLY expected to stop, search/beg some paper and a pen to put a note on someones windscreen with your wife wailing and leaking in your car??

Good job Christmas is coming up..... That manager will be able to wash his hair again! A very good point that you made was the confidence to be able to say NO! to people. Many years ago I was a bit of a pushover. Too polite and too naive to realise that my skills were being used by people who had no regard for me and no respect for someone helping them out. I learnt to say NO, and it was a good feeling to be able to do so. It was confidence building, and as time progressed, the occasional interactions where I didn't feel the need to explain why I was refusing made it even more affirming. A colleague friend who witnessed an interaction one time even said "wow, that was brutal! Straight to the point!" As we grow older we realise that we really don't have to please acquaintances or colleagues, we don't owe people anything and aren't prepared to be taken advantage of. Don't get me wrong.....I still help people out. Genuine people who appreciate help. But not graspers who use and abuse.
