We just bought 21 acres with a creek, pasture, alfalfa field, double-wide trailer, machine shed and loafing sheds. Cash is king. Homeschooled all three kids. Two of the three graduate this spring from college debt free, last one graduates from high school this year. No debt. Very little spending, a lot of saving. We’ve been doing what you’ve done.

Congrats but there's a huge difference, he built a house, a huge barn, a two car garage, has new vehicles, he bought a brand new jd tractor, a new rv, horses, sheep, extensive fencing - a well putnin, a septic system put in, and he is essentially saying they did it all olusbthe land on $200k. The math does not lie. Impossible to do what they are claiming how they did it all on $200k. The land they are on? I priced it all around them, it starts at $300k an acre to 5 acres, and goes up into the 15 millions and more. Their land is Premium land, right there. Where land is located makes a huge, - huge difference.

@@charlottecannon314 This couple has not claimed to have done this on just that $200K savings, nor will we ever know how much was put into their new property before they left WA. You should watch and listen to their story. This family is genuine and I’m sorry that you don’t see it. Yes, KZbin has made much of this possible and they have stated that throughout their journey. Been watching this channel for about a year now. Didn't go back to look at initial ones until this popped up on my YT feed today. WOW- not sure if this is a nice thing to say or not (I think it is a compliment), but you both look so tired and somewhat worn out on this video as compared to current ones. Obviously you were drained and anxious and probably a bit scared at this point, whereas today you are confident, experienced, and have succeeded with numerous challenges. Even though you are older now, you both look BETTER. Congrats.

@@nvalles2565 True. I also did not look at it that way. However, I do understand what is meant by, “Don’t have a dream, have a goal.” Goals, have a better chance of being manifested as we are actively working to achieve them. Dreams on the other hand, aren’t manifested on their own, because they are not concrete. Again, great point though; I agree with you. 😊

My grandma worked as a cleaning lady in the day and sorted beans at night in the "beanhouse". She also raised the last 3 of 9 of her kids alone with no social security. When in her 80's she went into a nursing home. She had saved a lot of $ through the years. She had one church dress for years & the same bathrobe forever. It can be done folks. Oh and she bought a house with 1 bedroom for her & 3 kids. She never owned a car or learned to drive. Lived to be 99 1/2.

Eyes that smile- hearts that love That's wonderful that you were able to do that. I was caregiver for my husband with brain cancer and had 2 teenagers at home. I know what a selfless privilege it is to care for someone you love. My grandma had Digenerative disk disease and also severe osteoporosis. When she was turned in bed her bones would break. It was heartbreaking but she received excellent care. People aren't always able to be the care givers to their loved ones as we were. Ana Rivera , there is good and bad everywhere. There are bad cops that make good cops look bad. My nephew is a state trooper. He started as a town police officer and decided to work for the state. We have always worried about his work but he enjoys his work. I have very good officers in my area. One took my son in a selected group in a plane ride and he got to do several things that the officers do to encourage children to stay in school try to get good grades. He won an award and that felt good. He works now for a college as a programmer/coder. When I lived in a neighborhood that wasn’t the best at one time, I was determined to make it as safe as I could with other parents and was very active with neighborhood watch. When I moved, I had many to say I would be missed, but everyone is different. To see a man killed and his killer staying on his neck although he was handcuffed was just wrong. Four cops there and not one stopped him. He took his job as power to do whatever he wanted. Regardless of the crime or was it him, it was not his job to kill someone in that situation.

I can cook game and lots of stuff. Grew gardens still do, we had meat rabbits also. My kids grew up having more than I ever did. My husband was more eccentric had to have more stuff , you didn't need or had purpose, when he passed away after 30yrs together, I gave my kids everything and left. I love my life , my kids, grandkids. I want them to grow up knowing you don't need to have all that to be happy, less is more. Y'all just explained exactly what my husband, kids and I are doing. Especially loved the 'pick one extracurricular' & boredom breeds creativity part...SO true. Extracurriculars outside of the home are destroying families. Ball games 5 days is not only stressful for all involved it's also terribly expensive and keeps families apart. Plus, let's be honest....your kid isn't going pro so what will they have gained in the end. Teach your kids to fish and...... you get it.

I commented on this video before but after watching it today I looked at my first comment and suddenly saw something. I commented: I wish.. I wish.. while instead I should have thought: today I begin at the start of my goal. No more wishing. Today I begin at the start of my goal. I will save our money and use your good advice to do that. Today is the first day. Ready. Set. Go.

Man I loved this. From Badge wearer to badge wearer, I commend you guys on what you have accomplished. Don't know how I came across your channel, but I want to do the same type of thing. Buy property in north Idaho and build a log cabin. I'm an active duty cop in the Air Force, but I will one day buy my land in cash like you have, and remain debt free like my wife and I have for a handful of years now. You crack me up man with your jokes and humor. this is the 3rd video I've watched in your massive vault of vids, but I'm curious to know what you guys paid for majority of things and how you found the freakin' amazing property with those mountain views. Gorgeous plot you guys got yourselves. Bravo.

Wise words. I think most middle class people going down this path will create what I call generational strength. I live in Poland, last 9 years I was programmed industrial robots in car factories (in tesla too 😏 ) I drive a 10-year-old Chevrolet Captiva ;). Now I have 3 children, I work remotely from home and I save in the same way as you. Regards and good luck!

Since my aging relatives won't eat anything I try to feed them without a "taster", my wife and I have taken the same approach as you have and amazingly, it works! I spent many years in an organization that was like the Peace Corps, but with guns. We had a boss who's motto was, "Hope is not a plan". He was correct.

AWESOME VIDEO YOU GUYS! The Idaho property is beautiful and your children wonderful, BUT the real story here is years in the making. No one but you two know the sacrifice that was necessary to get where you are today. Very encouraging and truly amazing. PS- If your not already doing so you guys should keep a journal. There's definitely a story to tell here worth A BOOK. Pray about it. Blessings.

Love this video! Lots of great advice and seriously it’s the truth. We somehow get programmed into spending so much on things we want vs what we need. And really we don’t need much to live a fulfilling life. I’m guilty of it myself. It becomes a hard habit to break but I’m working towards it. Congratulations on achieving your goals, can’t wait to see the rest of your journey!

So glad I found this video! I’ve been following you guys for around a month now and have been wondering how you were able to do it. Like you said, you see people selling everything and it feels really discouraging. But to hear that you guys saved for six years to follow your dream is inspiring! Being a millennial, I feel like we always want things right when we want them and don’t like having to wait. But good things are worth the wait! We paid off all of our debt besides our mortgage, and refinanced into a 15 year mortgage and plan to have that paid off in 10! Most people our age are building houses they will finance for 30 years etc. And it can be hard seeing that. But this video has been great encouragement and inspiration! Like Dave Ramsey says, “live like no one else so later you can live like no one else” 🖤

God Bless Y’all!! I lived like this my whole life. I was made fun of constantly when I worked at a High School in the Sped Department. I commuted and tutored after school. I can, dehydrate and freeze. I am saving for a freeze dryer and I was so blessed when I worked because I had a kitchen to cook supper after school for my boys who were dropped off at my school when the buses came to pick up the students from our school. I am so happy for y’all and you are installing life time skills in your kids. I no longer get to work the cattle like I used to because of a severe condition that has no cure. Again I have been blessed because I am able to help a friend with her cattle and I am still thrilled with the ability to help her and am so blessed. You’re amazing!

No. I couldn't eat rabbit again. When I was a kid my dad allowed my older brother (who was only an early teen). Clean the rabbit. He did a poor job and it tasted like literal crap. We threw it under the table. I never ate rabbit again.
