In a previous lifetime, I was a Texas DPS certified CHL Instructor. I paid a company in Houston to go through a use of force simulation where you had to decide shoot-don’t shoot scenarios in a fraction of a second. I learned that I would never want to be in law enforcement. Before entering the sim you had to place your real firearm and spare mags in a lockbox. No weapons nor ammo were allowed in the sim. It was very tightly controlled with multiple checks done by staff prior to entering the sim room.

I used to be a law enforcement training officer. We have done this for over 20 years. The older de-escalation simulators were just a screen that you spoke to and the person manually inputted commands based on what you said. Do they help doing the actual job? Not really. Some people just don't want to de-escalate. They're having mental health crisis or going through drug psychosis and there's nothing you can say to them.

The best way to figure out is by seeing if your city/town has a police explorers program. They'll go over a bunch of stuff with you that will help you find out whether it's for you or not

Not only does htc vive have a wireless adapter, but this is a pc on his back. If you dont use controllers, there is now hand tracking on some systems. This is nothing new. Try reading a book

How about testing there knowledge on the Constitutional rights. As 90% of law enforcement cannot even recite the entire first amendment. Let alone the next 5 amendments after. I'm a Constitutionalist, i firmly believe in that one of a kind document. That our founding fathers worked so hard to create. They had to live under real tyranny to understand how tyranny works. And the Constitution shows exactly what tyrants did to hold power. Every amendment is written down to show what tyrants did to oppress a people and how to keep tyrants from doing so again. All the easy living has made americans weak and complacent, they have forgotten what living under a king was really like, an thus have allowed a government to now act as a monarchy upon its people. Learn your rights, stand up for them , do not allow anyone or any institution to infringe upon them.
