Nothing wrong with the policeman, what I gathered was probably he was trying to say you're driving a vehicle that came from the very place you're from, but his communication barrier was the issue. FYI in Sri Lanka road accidents 90% of the incidents involving Indian vehicles and Sri Lankans have a very low regard for Indian vehicles.
