Nice one NA, as always. The ignorance of the cops (and so many others) when it relates to drone flights is staggering to see. I would like to be able to say that such ignorance is a rare event because drones have only existed for less than a year, but everyone knows this is not the case. Obviously the cops will probably encourage our corrupt politicians to fall into line and do their usual knee-jerk response and ban it no matter the logic, or lack thereof, of a subject they are truly ignorant of. Can anyone explain how any drone can be flown in a manner that can record anything the pathetically paranoid idiots in the police force can explain how it’s even recording anything of a secretive/sensitive nature - unless the item concerned is being stored outside and not covered up? Unless you can fly a micro-drone through an open window then the cops might have a point about the Data Protection Act, but you’d hope the cops would notice the presence of a drone flying inside the building? For anyone that’s registered as a drone operator they already know that such an act would be illegal as the drone operator would not have the drone in line of sight, but as NA pointed out, it’s only a matter of time until the police get their way and the CAA restricts airspace around police stations and the secretive sites they’d rather not publicise (think holding places for our American “allies” to stash people until the extraordinary rendition to other “black sites” for “enhanced interrogation” and all that lovely stuff that our politicians pretend doesn’t exist! Keep going NA - who knows but you just might catch the cops doing something they shouldn’t, and even be the next “Pulitzer Prize” recipient? Yeah it’s a bit of a stretch but the guys that were contacted by “Deep Throat” thought they were being taken for a ride, so who knows where it might lead!

If there was an actual drone flight then they should inform the CAA and have a purple circle put up on drone assist. I think they just made a sign and stuck it on the fence to put everyone off from flying a drone because they know people are flying over police stations etc.

They give many weak reasons why you shouldn't, but miss the real point that it's perfectly legal and they should actually be protecting your right to do it. It seems we pay them to protect themselves only and they have forgotten what the reason for their existence is; they certainly aren't protecting us!

A while back, the police did a big thing whereby they were walking through unlocked doors of private home owners and warning them of thefts, etc, whilst INSIDE the house. I think that if you can get close to sensitive information, then you SHOULD. Sauce for the goose?

As long as people like Northern Audits do this, the CAA will implement tighter control measures. You will see less than 250g drones separation distance be increased. Rumours are they are looking at aligning it with the over 250g restrictions due to the amount of stupid flights these auditors undertake.

Great drone footage to see the new addition to the station. Planning application with plans submitted to Oldham Council Oct 2017. From the access gate, the addition is the 2 storey facing the car park and the inner 1 storey. Project architects Clifford Tee & Gale. Oct 2020 street view on Gateway Crescent shows the previous building details. Car park was empty and grounds unkept during the great "lockdown social experiment." Google aerial shows the start of construction so likely spring 2021, contractor containers on west side and car park excavation. For a memento, I downloaded the detailed floor plans to look at the public information. First floor addition with windows overlooking the car park and portico doesn't specify a use, while west section is designated offices, etc. Open space floor plan notes "New Expansion 473 m2."

I always find it amazing, that they give up sensitive information while interacting or asserting authority. The auditor may not use the information, but you never know who else might take an interest. Fencing, cameras and security to keep people out. Blinds and window screens to guard sensitive information. All the responsibility of the tenant. Every law and freedom needs to be defended, especially with all the fear mongering being spewed out by the media these days from questionable sources. 👍NA

Who was that random guy? He was very helpful explaining that he and his colleagues do not take seriously the need to protect sensitive and private information. Could this police office require an inspection to ensure they are aware of and require to adhere to GDPR? That police officer should read the law and stop interfering with the public carrying out a lawful activity. The police association put out an all forces memo stating members of the public are allowed to film whatever they want from a public place this includes buildings and or police officers, once a digital image video or photograph has been taken it is then the property of the person who took said image or images, the police have no powers to demand you delete any footage and no powers to seize any equipment without a court order. That came from the POLICE association not the bicycle repair association or the ice cream vendors association!! ANY tyrant pig trying to stop anyone doing that then they are infringing on our rights :- article one protocol one (gives you the right to enjoy your possessions) Article 10. But in a complaint against anyone who tries to stop you.

5:40 The act of filming is seperate from the act of publishing. If the camera has recorded something sensitive and the content creator decides it's not appropriate to publish it then the fact that it's been recorded is not the fault of the content creator. It's the fault of the police. Sensitive information shouldn't be near windows. It shouldn't even be on desks as another constable might not be entitled to see it. PC monitors should never be facing the window if they could display sensitive information.

Interfering with the pilot whilst operating in the aircraft is illegal even for coppers. GDPR is their responsibility not the pilots, if you capture anything it’s just evidence of their offence.

Not 100% certain but I honestly think the government have their eyes set on pushing drone flyers out and selling the airspace to big corps for deliveries and stuff.
