Trooper Byrd's Report: On May 24, 2023 approximately 12:52AM, I (Trp. Jacob Byrd) was patrolling on Interstate 30 westbound near Interstate 630 when I entered a Texas tag PGH0050 into ACIC. Upon running the tag, I received a return to a 2021 Jeep. The tag was displayed on a silver Dodge Challenger (V1). As we approached Roosevelt Road on I30WB, V1 decreased his speed into the upper 40's before accelerating at a high rate of speed in excess of 100-mph. At the south interchange, V1 merged onto Interstate 440 eastbound where the driver blacked out, turning the headlights off on V1. V1 continued to flee recklessly at speeds reaching 161-mph confirmed by my front radar. The pursuit continued to Fourche Dam where V1 exited I440EB. V1 fled south on Fourche Dam before turning west onto Frazier Pike. Near the intersection of Frazier Pike and Stout Street, I lost sight of V1 and discontinued the pursuit.

I think ASP is just good about uploading to their channel(s). My brother in law is a cop in OKC, he says you'd be amazed at the number of people who attempt to evade/elude/run when they get lit up. The reason Chargers/hellcats can often 'win' is because they aren't beholden to the laws that cops have to abide by, whether it's the 130mph ceiling or themaximum speed allowance for blowing through stop signs (which is the main reason people get off the highway and then trawl cops through residential grid w/ 4-way stops since they can blow through them with no braking, then zig zag left right at each stop sign or every other stop sign and with that stronger engine and no need to brake, you gain huge swaths of lead each time the cop slows for a stop sign. Regardless, Byrd is a demon! I imagine some of these dudes are in shock seeing Byrd right on their tail the entire chase

"V1" is a high performance Challenger with a prominent dual exhaust system clearly visible under the car. The Challenger at 3:50 is an innocent bystander, possibly a V6. Its headlights are also a significantly warmer shade than the suspect vehicle. Remember, the trooper could see this all much more clearly than we can on the video.

@@em1osmurf There's a great trick the 'undefeated black charger' did (whether its the same car or just some myth that is attributed to any black charger that successfully flees) where the cop lights him up on a road in town, charger flees, gets some distance, not a crazy amount but decent enough, takes a hard right and onto the highway on ramp which curves a couple ways where the cop loses sight briefly, a few second later the cop is now on the highway and races past the cars going w/ the flow of traffic to catch up with the charger, not realizing one of the cars he passed was the charger! The vid breakdown shows it was the same tail/lights, everything. I bet that driver laughed the entire way home after a victory like that

Back in the day when I was growing up, I was hanging with some friends and we watched as a dog was chasing a cat on the sidewalk, along the length of a property that had a brick wall that was about a little over five ft tall. As the dog closed in on the cat, the cat made this incredible vertical leap and perched itself atop the wall. The poor dog must have burned all of its paws as it came to a screeching halt, bemused and bewildered because the cat did it so quickly, the dog had no idea what had just happened or how and where the cat disappeared to. The dog looked lost, as it sniffed around and searched the immediate area, trying to find this cat but not knowing where to look. My friends and I all laughed at how quickly this cat outsmarted the dog. This chase reminded me of that incident many years ago.

This goes back to the mid-1990s but was first person from a MN trooper to me...they limited the cars to 130 mph due to factory tire ratings...if over 130, then 'Z' rated tires were necessary and very expensive. Luckily nothing happened, which only emboldens this behavior. His superiors should take his keys away. When a collision happens it won't be an accident! Too bad the tax payers have to be on the receiving end of these poor decisions when the lawsuits are fled. The cop is enjoying this chase just as much as the driver being chased. !

This matter is debatable Years ago I swearI thought exactly the same as you The ide is excellent👌, but it only works for stupid people who drive stupidly And you agree with me That you can catch them without having to trace them😏 Now comes the biggest problem with the idea👮‍ With Professional drivers after they getaway At a reasonable distance🏎 they can stop within seconds and remove it Because the sound of its firing💥 will certainly be heard at the back of the vehicle Here he can throw it away Or better, attach it to another vehicle passing by Thus, you will lose the piece for free and will go after someone else😄 Not to mention that these professionals will have anti-jamming devices Certainly, the market will be filled with different types of tracking jammers The idea is certainly excellent in principle But implementation in reality is almost impossible, and ensuring its effectiveness is weak, it would be like a waste of resources And believe me, we have drivers for whom even a gun is useless This is a simple example kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWeufWl3obCAbbs kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHKlh6Bre6yMoNE kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5OWpJeJmL1oq68 kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJqylZ1vnLN0bpI
