I did nighttime police pursuits during my career until I retired from police work. To the viewers who have never been in one, Trooper Byrd is steering with only his left hand throughout the pursuit, and he is using his right hand to key up his radio mic and also using his right hand to switch his siren modes, plus he is keeping up his navigation by calling out streets and speeds which means he is looking at his instruments and also the street signs. He deserves to be a legend. Everything he did was one-handed.

Notice how the Trooper doesn't brake into the turns, he brakes before the turns and accelerates out of them? That's how you don't oversteer and wipe-out a tree and a bunch of signs. Great driving, Trooper!

Rosie, it’s a job they obviously love, but with tremendous consequences when mistakes are made. This is why many police jurisdictions will terminate the pursuit when the public is at its highest risk of injury or death. Not saying this is what happened here, but generalizing. These State Troopers are the best at what they do, and I take my hat off for them! ❤️

Heck, LRPD was on a chase going on 40 minutes, ASP Trooper swoops in primary and the suspect braked, pulled over and stuck both hands out the window!

What is amazing are that these so called suspects that have a pretty good crash can still get out of the car and run like hell.

"Batman" Byrd. They say he was born in the back of a cruiser. They say he's a former Formula 1 driver who got bored of doing it. They say he's a former CIA agent. Regardless, he works night shift where the real action is. "My name is Byrd, Jacob Byrd"

These cops are friggin fearless. In my much younger days I drove an ambulance and got it up to 110 mph and my right leg would shake like a tree in a hurricane!! Kudos to them, big time !
