Trooper Byrd's Report:
On June 24, 2023, approximately 2:47AM, I (Trp. Byrd) was informed by Trp. Stovall that a dark colored passenger car passed
him heading southbound on University Ave approximately 80-90mph. At the intersection of S University Ave and I30EB service
road, I observed the dark colored passenger car pass me at 107mph in a 45mph zone with no lights on.
I made a U-turn and followed V1 as it attempted to evade by turning north onto Chicot Road then eastbound onto the service
road going back towards University Ave. At this time V1 driver had turned the lights back on. I caught up to V1 and was able to
identify V1 as a maroon Chevrolet Caprice bearing Arkansas AJJ10W (V1). V1 ran the red light as I approached from the rear,
and I initiated a traffic stop.
V1 came to a stop, and I instructed V1 driver (S1) to turn the car off. Upon doing so, S1 began fleeing at a high rate of speed
on the eastbound service road toward Geyer Springs. S1 failed to stop at the red light at Geyer Springs running it at a high rate
of speed as he continued to drive recklessly. The pursuit merged onto I30EB where S1 turned the lights off on V1 in an attempt
to evade me. I observed V1 take the 65th St exit off I30EB where V1 left the roadway to the left crashing. V1 struck multiple
signs along with a culvert before coming to a stop.
Once V1 came to a stop, S1 fled the scene on foot. I was able to apprehend S1 at 6600 I30 Little Rock, AR 72209 without
further incident. S1 was transported to Baptist Health Little Rock where he was checked and cleared medically. S1 was then
transported to the Pulaski County Jail.
S1 was charged with the following:
FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - SUBSTANTIAL DANGER OF DEATH
FLEEING - ON FOOT
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE (DAMAGE $1,000)
1ST: RECKLESS DRIVING - 1ST
FAIL TO STOP AT RED LIGHT
SPEEDING - MORE THAN 15 MPH OVER LIMIT
VEH LIGHTS - NO LIGHTS AT NIGHT
LEAVING SCENE OF ACCIDENT INVOLVING PROPERTY DAMAGE ONLY

To some extent I can understand the "I was scared" BS Listen to the main stream media and their constant crap about police out to kill unarmed black men. They buy into the lies and that guides their thinking. Add that to the families of some thug who robs or kills someone, the cops do kill the thug and family whines that he was a good boy turning his life around.

I'm a simple man. I see Trooper Byrd, I click. 'Nuff said. 1:18 - That was the moment the driver chose to make a very bad decision. Go git 'im! "That car got a V8?" Yes, sir, likely the basic 5.7L, possibly the optional 5.7L LT1. The smaller V8s, 4.3L and 5.0L, would NOT have been able to pull away from you like that with that much chassis weight. It's a damned shame about the Caprice. I would have paid good money for one last year when I was looking to buy a second vehicle. Only because I have a certain affinity for big RWD cars, I'd keep it mostly-stock and drive it reasonably because it's essentially a couch on wheels... Yes, they're fast cars, but not fast enough to outrun Byrdman (speed-governed), and they certainly don't handle like a modern pursuit vehicle, even with the police handling package. (Yup, there was a Police Package on those Caprices!) 9:17 - 😢 See, it WAS a nice car, in pretty good condition, interior looked clean, tasteful set of rims (similar enough to Impala SS rims)... Bruh, you effed up a really nice ride. I hope you learned something.
