I'm Brazilian, but my great great grandparents came from Poland many years ago. The only word that I already knew on that list was bread, but I just knew how to pronounce, I don't knew how to write it. My grandma used to speak polish when she was younger, but now she just remember some few words.

In Germany sour cherries are called "Weichsel" in some dialects. Seems pretty similar to the Polish word.

The vocabulary seems quite tricky but It ends up that I could almost catch your grocery list! chleb, mleko, wody, dwa piwa, truskawki, czereśnie i trzy ogórki. The word for bread in Polish , is extremely similar or even the same as the word for break in Russian .

almost all these words are same in ukrainian and rusian...polish is the closest to proto slavic..ukranian and belarusian are 2nd and 3rd..we are quite similar pre christianity..slavs originate from where all 3 countries meet
