We don't drink much of vodka. Record holders are Russians, we are drinking more beer now than vodka. As for other alcohols: you mixed them all up and, as we all know: 11th: Do not mix. We have nalewki, made from spirytus with different fruits and berries and water. Bimber is a home made moonshine. We have also śliwowica, vodka made with plums with high voltage, made mainly within one region near Pieniny mountains. Check out Russell's channel Love my Poland, he recently talked about pigwówka.

Vodka was heavily consumed while Poland was behind the Iron Curtain. Life was bleak back then, many people lost hope and resorted to drinking. Now, it's a different story. Poles are branching out into other alcoholic drinks such as wine/beer and mixed drinks containing whiskey, brandy, etc. The level of sophistication has gone up.. While there is still consumption of vodka it has really dropped substantially and if it persists then it is probably in the poor rural areas.

I know a lot of shall I say young and ‘sophisticated’ Poles who regularly break out vodka at parties, I am often a victim of this as vodka is a weakness in my drinking state 😅 But I know a lot of Poles who enjoy Gin and Beer...I really think there is a market for a Gin bar in Warsaw! If I was the entrepreneurial type I would open one haha

You’d seem to mix bimber with nalewka. Bimber is simply moonshine. Nalewka it is a homemade vodka often with fruits.

Gentlemen - Polish people if they want to work abroad have to be able to speak English well. I live in California and I had professional jobs - MIS manager for Apple Computer, Program Manager in Boeing. But I speak English well. Knowledge of the language of the host country is a must. My niece works for Proctor and Gamble in Milan. But she went to study in Italy when she was in college, and now she works as IT specialist with SAP system.

Actually internet shows that in 2017 there were over 1 million Poles living in the United Kingdom. In June 2020 there were 815 thousand Poles in Great Britain. I'm Pole living in California. I worked as MIS Manager in Apple Computers and as Program Manager in Boeing managing multimillion dollar programs, but I speak English. Problem of many Poles living in foreign countries is that they do not speak English well therefore many of them tend to work in the menial jobs, even those who have degree from the university or polytechnic. But I also know that many Polish doctors immigrated to England after Poland became member of European Community so I assume that they work somewhere in NHS, hopefully as medical doctors, and not only as nurses.

Do you find Polar bears in Poland? Yes, each street has its own bear. Do Polish people drink a lot of Vodka? Yes, and only vodka. No water here. Do Polish people use a lot of polish to clean? No, we do not clean at all. Just get dirty, drink vodka and feed our bears (with vodka). Do Polish people sing Sto Lat a lot? Yes, but only at our bears' birthday parties. Do the Poles have a passion for dance? Yes, belly dance is popular. After vodka and with bears only. Do Poles have soup with a boiled egg for Breakfast? Yes, but just leftovers if the bears can't finish their meal.

Yes. Poles avoid pubs because they do not know what pub is for indeed and they don't know how to behave. They think it is another bar where you only can get drunk and nothing else. Nothing like that! I found English pubs as a great opportunity to learn some local lingo and became one of the locals. It was kind of investment and it payed out for me pretty well.

It is one of the things I miss about the U.K., but the bars here in Warsaw are also nice (when not closed for Covid!), the craft beer places are the closest I’ve found really and I enjoy going when I can, but definitely I found people drinking with friends a lot more common than in the U.K.

Actually you can find brown BEARS in the Tatra Mountains, not many, they are not aggressive and they are protected. I don't know many people drinking VODKA, rather wine or beer but at weddings or other ceremonies they do drink vodka, I like vodka with coca-cola. I absolutely hate DISCO POLO and TAKING OFF shoes. This taking off comes from the times when most poeple worked on farms and after coming home from the fields in dirty shoes, they had to leave them outside the house. But old habits rarely die, so many people follow this tradition.
@britinpoland23922 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen wild bears yet, though deer and foxes I have 🙂 I know Vodka is a mixed one, I do have close friends who love it a little too much and many who can’t stand it 😅 Disco polo is the thing people love to hate…yet I still see it turned on towards the end of a party 😉 With shoes it’s mixed, I find most people expect it from me when I go to a flat 🙂

The Russians consume the most vodka per person (approx. 13.9 liters). Annually, they buy nearly two billion liters of it, which is almost half of the world's production. Belarus is second with 11.3 liters per person, and third is Ukraine with 7.7 liters per person. Poland, with 7 liters per person, ranks fourth in the "Economist" ranking. It should be noted here that, unlike some others, Poles eat well when drinking and therefore do not go on all fours in the streets. Drinking alcohol in public is prohibited by law in Poland.

Honey your video is spreading stereotypes about Polish people. Like drinking vodka - where did you get it from?. I'm Polish and I do not drink vodka. Also while living in Poland I've seen only polar bears in zoos.
