First off, I just want to say thanks you Scott. you’ve been a huge help to me going from an enthusiast to a part time detailer and I’m asking for a little more help =). So, the process you use to do a test spot, can you use the same process to do multi-stage/ two step paint correction as well or do you use a different method/ technique when tackling that service?

I have the same products so im guessing 1 step you use the F6 and 2 steps use the H9 THEN the M3 what about after M3 you add something or leave it be if the customer didnt ask for say a ceramic coating ?

Thank you Scott that was very informative honestly. I just got my first buffer but haven't used it yet. You helped clarify how to use the different pads. The different colors now that makes more sense which now I definitely have a better understanding previously. Now I have a better understanding what pad to use when. I was thinking I would just use the least aggressive black pad for the whole car. Which reminds me you should have probably two of the same color pads if you're going to do the whole car one pad won't be enough? probably the black one and avoid the other orange and yellow cuz I didn't want to risk damaging the paint job. The part that I'm not quite understanding is the light. Is a light required as part of the process? You said you wanted to be about 30 50% of effectiveness? Is the light the only way to judge the effectiveness of the pad? Or could it be done by just visualizing I suppose that takes more experience of removing present defects? I'm sure once I start using the buffer excetera I'll not as nervous about hurting the paint finish. And your videos AR getting me there. Have accumulated a lot of products which is good but actually have not had the opportunity to use them I got claybar and fluid. I just haven't allocated the time to dive in. The other part is I want to make sure I'm doing it right and that's possible before I start. I'm not take the risk of diving in and making an irreversible mistake or something. It's a time thing. I'm anticipating washing then clay then wax in one day. And it's going to take several hours I'm sure. The car is newer so the clay may not be necessary. The other challenges I have sun on my driveway all day long. I realize his situations you could do in the Sun but that's not the ideal situation. Ideally I'd be more comfortable with a overcast day. I do realize that if it's not extremely hot and you prepare everything to dance and work fast, AC could still be done in the sun to a degree. Washing and send ya clay I don't think so wax definitely not. I appreciate your informative videos. When you explained mentioned how you build trust with the customer which helps you stand out among your competition. I understand what you're saying and I appreciate that. A past life I was a professional wedding portrait photographer. He was always my intent of going above and beyond. Yes and that's how you get repeat business and customers trust you with repeat business. Thanks again for your on a straightforward explanation.

Tried the Griots you recommended, worked great. I finished with Turtle wax hybrid ceramic spray. I've always been confused as to what I use after. Do I have to stay with that type of product for upkeep, or can I use a wax on top of it? Is there a benefit to layering? Thx

Hey Scott, I’m working on a Black Audi right now and the paint looks great in the garage, even under my halogen work light. I used a DA polisher with an Orange Hex Pad with M105 and then finished it with a White Hex Pad with M205, it looks amazing. But once I bring it into the sunlight, I see a bunch of holograms, almost looks like towel drying marring? I’ve been using brand new 80/20 microfiber towels.. idk what could be the issue. Any thoughts?

I have no prior paint correction experience but I am a detail oriented individual, and between your in depth how-to videos and positive attitude towards newbies picking up a da I’ve been seriously considering giving it a shot! Hi what would you recommend for repairing the clear coat from egg damage. I had a pigeon egg splatter on my hood. It really ate into the clear but mainly little dime to quarter size spots. Do you think wet sanding the spots only and then polish the whole area with a da. The spots are really rough like the clear is almost raised and feels like sandpaper.
