Love this series & your presentation style Pete'. Given that you said port cross-section would limit you to 6500rpm, I'll guess this turd to put out 460HP with a healthy dose of optimism in your skills.

@my87z282 жыл бұрын
Awesome series! Hard to give an estimate on hp without knowing the compression, cfm and cam specs. However, I'd certainly assume with the domed pistons on a 383 (385) that it's 13:1+ (assuming chambers are around 64cc). I'd hope that the wuhan heads, with mild port work could achieve at least 265-275cfm @ .600-.650". You did mention the heads wouldn't likely support much above 6500rpm. Then, since going with a solid roller along with the compression, I'd assume that the cam duration is 250-260* @.050 and in the area of .600-.650". Lots and lots of variables. This thing should make 520-550hp. I'm going to guess 538hp @ 6300rpm.

I did a similar engine 406 ci with a cheap 500$ set of heads. Home ported 2.05 valves ,solid roller cam. It went low 6s in an S10. Put a good head on it and the difference was obvious immediately.
