Years ago, one day in September, mom and I visited some of her father's family in Gdansk. Next time, one week in the area, may prove more leisurely. 🚂 We enjoyed travelling around Poland by train.

I went to Westerplatte on the pirate ship. It sold beer on board. Gdańsk is a wonderful place and I spent 5 nights there. The hotel across the bridge has a lovely beer hall.

Very nice tour, I agree with the boat tour, the skipping of museums and church, and the food joint... a people kind of place. You did good to show people how to have fun and see the city.

You are very good at making these videos despite your humorously self-effacing critiques of your production skills. Your passion, good character and talents for sharing the beautiful culture and geography of Poland always sustain your work. Thank you for serving our country- Veteran's Day here- and please keep making this valuable series. Blessings Always!

My wife and I just spent 4 days in Gdansk in July. It was an amazing town. We saw the monument as well, as well as the shops, although it was one of the hottest periods of the year. It was still a fantastic time!!

The most beautiful city in Poland, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. There is everything here: monuments, great architecture, wind from the Baltic Sea and happy people of the sea. Gdansk is connected with other cities such as: Sopot and Gdynia, which is called the Trojmiasto. Beautiful beaches and tasty regional cuisine.

I just love you guys! Also, I dabbled in broadcasting (in another life, HA! College), and you can cut wind noises on your microphone by putting a condom (I know, it's weird) over it. Oh, AND! So, LabCorp bought all the lab services for the Ascension Healthcare System, which is where I work. I discovered that LabCorp actually has facilities in Poland! So... maybe in a year or two, I can actually follow through and move to Poland for work! How awesome would that be?

@@markhurning8051 I know, the condom thing is weird. You take the cover off the Mike, put the condom over it, then put the fuzzy cover back on. It actually works, but use an unlubricated one, lol.

Really enjoyed seeing the city center and the boat ride where you passed so much. Best way to travel because you re not driving and are able to see everything. The thing I hate the most is when I am driving and the passenger is ooh look at that. I can not since my eyes are on the road.

What is the problem with audio. Technical? Do you guys have covers for your mikes. They work great. (Little fur covers)
@markhurning80512 жыл бұрын
Part of the problem was the wind defeating our dead cats “fluff ball on mics” tue other was a connection issue. The 35mm adapter on the mic cord failed. Lesson learned, check audio on every take. Thanks for watching!

Wow. What a great look at Gdansk. Fantastic channel. Keep up the great work. BTW, why the name change from Danzig to Gdansk?😍
@markhurning80512 жыл бұрын
Danzig was the city’s name when it was a part of Germany. After WW2 the border shifted west, and the city became Polish territory once again and was given its more traditional and Polish name of Gdansk. Thanks for watching!

In 2013 1 USD = 3 PLN and I felt rich when I visited. Today I would live like royalty! In Gdansk we saw beautifully painted exteriors of buildings, and an apartment building outside the shipyards built in the Soviet era that our tour guide called the ugliest housing ever built. I will enjoy a return visit some day.

I’m sorry our video was not to up your standards. Please know, we are not professional movie makers and don’t claim to be. I can recommend a great producer Rick Steves, he has a sea of people helping him with it so he puts out a super high quality product (also gets paid pretty well for it - we don’t). There is also the Travel Channel or other, more professional KZbinrs. I hope you will find something that you can enjoy.
