Wow. As a retired nurse who worked critical care areas and surgery, if you are that offended, maybe you need to look for another job. I’m not saying it’s not hard to deal with morbidly obese patients in your area, but you aren’t the one consistently moving this type of patient. Nurses like me are. Before you judge, walk a mile in their shoes. I had to medically retire early because of the damage to my bones from a rare type of arthritis. I didn’t complain when I worked crazy hours. And patients don’t succeed in weight loss when being judged.
@dkbrinlee Жыл бұрын
@@slc1161 I’m not offended at all. We do fat people, bone racking thin patients, etc. just making the comment it doesn’t help the cause if they are morbidly obese. I work 2 jobs at 2 different facilities in surgery. Fat people and unhealthy people keep us in business. I am sorry you beat yourself up to the point you had to retire at an early age due to your body breaking down. That is terrible. I will say it is their fault they are morbidly obese of course. Taxing our bodies to take care of their lack and neglect of taking care of themselves.

What's really wrong is they don't even care what caused the obesity. My spine was damaged at age 19. I'm permanently disabled. I can still walk. I've enough on my plate. Well when you cannot move much that first year you gain weight. You have to eat to survive. But you have to heal and recover from the damage. I also had serious problems with extremely high blood pressure. Every time I tried to do anything I would almost pass out. I had a lot of physical obstacles to get through to even be able to exercise. After multiple conditions occurred I was doing physical therapy during the whole time. So, now I gage my health by how I'm feeling. Not a weight number. I've been steady in between 10 pound fluctuations for decades now. Until my mother died. I gained more weight. Now I'm just trying to get rid of that. I pay attention to how I feel, not my weight. But my weight is steady and slowly going down.

No joke, I entered a "walkathon" and took a wrong turn. By the time I wandered across the finish line everyone was packing up and going home. A few years later I was with a church group playing paintball. I decided that my strategy would be to hunker down somewhere and ambush people as they walked by. My hiding place was too good though. No one walked by me for a really long time. Finally, I heard people calling me and telling me the game was over. I stepped out and said, "Did I win?" People talked about that for years.
