There is no "cure" for what I have, there's only making the best of it and hoping it'll be more manageable given time and effort to improve it. My point was that if PIP is taken away from people because "they're only mentally ill and not physically incapable of working" then it will lead to far worse problems for those people who can no longer access the help they need. Talk therapy should absolutely be more available on the NHS and there should be more freedom to be able to choose your therapist but that's not the circumstances we're in right now and a lot of people rely on PIP to access healthcare they would otherwise be unable to get.

This is what I agree with sunak, but I that it needs clamping on. Iv also known people who lie to GPS to get a sick note and go on benefits. What needs to happen is secondary care takes over issuing of sicknotes for longterm or chronic MH issues, acute short term MH issues maybe leave that with the GP. Closing case, GPs aren't specialist

@cantin8697 people are twisting it to make it about people with longterm mental health issues, and people with longterm disabilities, who and ignoring the fact that he is speaking mainly to people receiving long term sickness notes for mental health issues that a person can still be deemed capable of work. Heck iv seen someone signed off on one of my reviews for anxieties of interviews. GP gave a sick note for that and the patient only got to us because even though the GP was throwing meds, she said the patient wasn't taking them on purpose. In depth risk assessment led to us finding out anxieties was no longer the case, but and anxiety of interviews shouldn't be something that deems a person to not be in work.. There's are people really struggling. The point rishi is making is that GPS shouldnt be the ones to issue long term sickness notes. They aren't specialists in mental health, at all. It's primary generic care that, lomg term needs secondary care, assessments and a holistic plan that doesn't involve throwing meds constantly. Stop being lazy and toughen up and take what job to get money coming in. There are 916,000 job vacancies in the UK right now, they can get a job - and no, these jobs aren't "ghastly" - that is just your privilege talking. There are lots of jobs available in the care sector, hospitality, and retail sector for example. There are apprenticeships available for any age not just young people - there are pharmacy apprenticeships for example, manufacturing apprenticeships, education apprenticeships. There are literally no excuses, just people who are spoilt and have a "holier than thou" attitude towards certain jobs/sectors - beggars can't be choosers. Anyone who has that spoilt attitude shouldn't be getting benefits.
@BlargSmarg5 ай бұрын
@@ecnalms851 It doesn't matter how many jobs there are in the UK, as it only really matters what jobs people have local to them that they can actually work. You're also not factoring in that awful work culture and business practices can have a hugely negative effect on people's mental health. This crappy 'pull yourself up by the bootstraps and get on with it' mentality is literally just telling people to ignore the problems and accept being miserable. You might as well be telling a depressed person 'Just don't be sad'. People are getting signed off of work by medical healthcare professionals, Rishi here has no knowledge on if those fit notes are legitimate or not, he just assumes a lot of them aren't because 94% are signed off entirely. But most people who can do some work just go to work and obviously won't bother going to a doctor for a fit note just to say 'Yes they can work, go easy on them'. You give all these examples about jobs that can be done, ignoring the fact that a lot of those jobs don't pay a wage you can actually live off of without working insane hours which if you are already not doing well mentally or physically isn't realistic, if those jobs even have the hours to give you. The government won't cover the difference if you're full time employed without a lot of luck and years of fighting by which point you'll be homeless. Most people just won't be eligible for any kind of support the instant they get any job regardless of how little they can actually do work wise and how little that job actually pays them. And all of this is getting worse because people have chronic mental and physical illness that isn't being treated because of years long waiting lists that just add to the pile of both people on benefits and people feeling the need to take periods of sick leave and then after failing to properly fund our health service and failing to address waiting lists in any meaningful way the Tories manage to convince people like you that it's just people being lazy. Poor and sick people aren't spoilt for not wanting to work for corporate assholes who treat them like the dirt on their boot heel. Who fire them on a whim and demand all they can give for a wage that doesn't even pay for a roof over their heads.

Don't you somehow have to see a doctor (I've heard that they're not fictional) to get medicated in the first place.

Sunak is in a position where he will NEVER need a handout . Yes , people should not live on benefits , but all the time shops are going self service there will be people put out of a job , or cuts to services , so how are people going to survive when he is creating their downfall . He has no idea how to run a bath .

I find it ironic that job centre staff hate their jobs probably as much as anyone else.I was once in a meeting with a work coach and he said to me"In a way its ok for you,i also have to look for jobs because this isnt for me ive decided".I find most of the staff are pretty decent people,its the leadership that drives their decision making.
