He has such absolutely perfect pick hand/fret hand synchronization. Consistently flawless, whether he's shredding, mixing in legato phrases, jumping 2 or 3 strings at a time. Videos don't do the live experience justice though. If you're a guitarist, you owe it to yourself to see Buckethead play live. Even if you don't care for his style of music, seeing that level of mastery over the instrument displayed just a few feet away from the front of your face … man, it's surreal.

I completly agree! Buckethead is not only a virtuous, but also a creative composer, good in many style and different musical fields. He is an experimental musician, as well. Moreover, he is an awesome and prolific builder of endless and complex legato. Any guitarists has never made so long chains of notes, like Buckethead. Often I heard his phrases to lenght without break beyond one or two minutes!!!

i respect that he uses his pinky like a normal hand should... i've seen some guitarists opt to favour using their ring fingers over pinkies by choosing fingering that uses the pinky less, and by shifting their hand positions over to play the 'pinky notes' with their first fingers, thinking it's faster. moving your whole hand versus putting your pinky down? there's no way whole hand movements are ever going to be faster. this is really a bad habit to develop and bad form for a guitarist - it's also very counterintuitive. even django reinhardt would be shaking his head at these players.
@jethrokeys14385 ай бұрын
Shawn Lane plays using his ring finger more than his pinky, and his playing is not only 10x more critical but so much more musical than BH. Basically he compensates for his skill with musicality. You can't compare the two. It's like chalk and cheese. I can't even begin to describe how much faster Shawn is, check him out and be dumb founded.
