Thanks for this video. I actually own both the LSIM703 and LSI15 and have A/B tested to each other for comparison. I agree they'll are very similar. Infact, I find of hard to tell the difference. That's ok by me as I think they are brilliant speakers for the money. Punch well above thier price point. Polk products generally are seen as a mass manufacturer, and they are. But these are thier top of the line stuff where Polk gets to throw all thier know how at them, and it shows. They truly are very good.

Very helpful to have this feedback. I find the best insight comes from side-by-side direct a/b comparisons. It eliminates many factors which can influence an assessment - including my mode one day and inaccurate memories on how something sounded. (I have been wanting to bring over the Polk SDA2Bs from my parents house to compare against what I have now and my favorable memory of how good they were- likely my ears have changed without realizing). When I purchased the Lsi15s then we’re still local audio stores - and I compared them against many higher end speakers and preferred them. The fact that the Polk cost less was a well plus as I couldn’t afford many of the other - MartinLogan, Wharfedale and similar priced brands such as Definitive Technology. You findings that they were too similar to pick a winner (while I may have drawn the same conclusion) is a bit unfortunate as I always hope brands evolve to a better sounding speaker with each generation within the same class of speaker and not just to raise the price. I do understand that the designs of the lsi and LsiM series were more similar then what the recently introduced with the Legands series that replaced. I really hope the L-series is as much as an improvement as the reviews suggest.-Jon

those Polk LSiM703 measure excellent and i think they look super nice too. ==================== there is a v real possibility for patio speakers to play lower fqs than what is measured on a stand in a room. if installed somewhat in corner, let's say right under the patio ceiling and against a house wall, the speakers will gain efficiency in the lower fqs as sound is directed/concentrated 'forward'. same principle as placing subs in corners...

Thanks for pointing of the impact of environment has on the sound and how the speakers measure. You are correct that the outdoor “room” is different but elements such as corners have a similar influence on how sounds reach the listening position.-Jon
