Was curious about the XPA DR2 amps. My front speakers require two 4ohm loads or a single 2ohm per channel. This would require 4 monoblocks or two of the DR2s, a bit of price difference. Their 4 channel amps must have one supply and won't take the load, not big on class D amps for a 2ohm stable amp so the DR2's are a goof fit. But I trust the old copper transformers and am hesitant of the new power supply on the DR2 amps. Seems to work, wonder how reliable they will be? As for surround, I'm sure it helps but wouldn't put that much into them, that's a lot of cash for a little gain. You're right about running separate power to the front mains and center which takes the load off your surround amp and increases the available power to those channels. One power supply for a zillion channels never does well.

Please help! Can I skip that DIRAC set up . Can I connect the receiver to the speakers and TV immediately without setting up dirac. I plan to connect with an HDMI cable HDMI arc to the TV HDMI arc input. Sorry, I'm using Google Translate. Thanks! I don't plan to use surround speakers. only stereo two speakers.

2 years later, these are still available even after there bankruptcy and ownership change. Which is great news, I recently discovered a very nicely built Onkyo 9050 stero amp at a thrift store. Was looking at it to match my thrift store find EPI speakers. Was a little more than I wanted to spend at $150, gone the next day. Probably should have snagged it. But it left such a good impression on me now I have interest in the brand.

Thanks John, my 22 year old son was looking for a receiver, I was thinking of an Integra for his price point, he sent me a link for the 7100 at $599, for his budget I told him to go ahead and grab it, he has a very small room, and I think it would fit his needs perfect. He has a killer PC setup, and i think he will be happy once he get everything in. I have been building speakers for years (also have a few sets of classic Klipsch that I have been hauling around since 1990 along with 2 Adcom 555 and 3 Adcom 2535s and a Carver M 1.0). I think we will build him a complete set of Overnight Sensations to get him into the hobby, and see where this rabbit hole takes him. Nice to see him jumping in early. Hopefully this receiver will last him 10 year. We all know how the tech changes every few years and if anyone is like me they have a stack of old receivers in the attic hahaha. Only negative, and its not that big of a deal for the price point is I wish the 7100 had amp preouts, but at $599, can't have everything.

you are measuring the room, and reflections. if you want to measure the speaker - take stuff outside preferably in a large field - yeah power is a problem. but measuring speakers requires open space or a an-echoic chamber. even the low freq reflection from the ground is a problem. raise the drivers and mic as high as possible.

I bought the 3800 this past November after doing an A/B test at BBY between it and the 4800 and Cinema 50 (listening to the KEF3 R3 Metas). I couldn't hear a difference between the three, and if it was there, it was very minor. I am a very happy 3800 owner at this point.

Has anyone paired the Arcam AVR30/31 with a PA720? Does it make sense to add a PA720 for the four heights and bi-amp the front trio? According to Arcam, the PA720 and AVR use the same amplification and you will get the same watts! Is there any real advantage to bi-amping with AVR stages+channel?

Can anyone tell me if the connecting cable to my Sony Bravia X95L TV to the Sony AZ7000ES center channel speaker uses 3.5 mm connecters?
@twosawyers10 күн бұрын
27:21 Don’t correct it. This is all timing and reflection. The sub delay is due to it being underpowered or crossed over at a lower frequency. Before using the auto calibrate feature I would set the sub to the highest frequency it’s capable of. The woofer is moving slow and registering with a delay. Higher frequencies are more directional and are easier to detect by the mic. This is why it toggles the sub more than the speakers during calibration. The receiver will correct the delays and timing issues on the fly. Also, the distance in the ceiling height can be due to incorrect angles or reflections from the height speakers. But all in all, I would not correct the settings that registers. The mic knows what it wants to hear, and it will change the signal processing accordingly.

For all of you who like having analog inputs to use external dac’s, you cant do it with the mrx series. All the analog inputs are dsp’d and there is no way to turn it off. Straight from anthem tech’s, only actual analog is on avm90. Talk about false advertisement, everyone has been duped on the mrx series

Hi Jon, After an unpleasant experience with the BasX amp and that nasty pop when the 12V trigger turned on, I returned it and just received the Outlaw 7000X / reasoning being ATI is the California based manufacturer, and ATI has a good track record. Let me say this - for just slightly more, only $150.00, you get more power than the BasX A7, no issues with the 12V trigger, and phenomenal sound. I'd advise every audiophile to take a serious look at Outlaw Audio. Built like a tank, and they INCLUDE the 12V trigger cable - no one else does this.

Hi - I can’t for the life of me access the HDMI Diagnostics mode on my Cinema 30. I have no problem getting to the web browser menu, but then…nada. I can’t see in the video you posted where you access the “ADVANCED” button from because the video jumps. I also can’t see the URL which would help as I could manually copy that. Could you please type that menu out or provide some additionally detail? Thanks!

Hi John, Thanks for your great sharing. I manage to replace my broken Onkyo TX NR676 and I used to paired it with My Yamaha speakers and Yamaha 8" subwoofer for 5.1 setting. I think they get along quite well. I plan to get the latest upgrade to Onkyo 6 series, which is TX NR6100, but after see your review I consider about Yamaha RX A2A too. Since this one is AVENTAGE line up from Yamaha receivers. From your opinion, which one should I get? I want to upgrade from 5.1 to 5.1.2 Atmos configuration. Fyi, I still using the Yamaha speakers for front (Yamaha NS-F500), center (Yamaha NS-C500) and surround (Yamaha NS-B500) channels, but for subwoofer I replace it with SVS PB2000 pro and Ceiling speaker I use pair of B&W CCM663. Thanks for advance

That is a close call between the two. The Yamaha RX-A2A is likely costs a little more. I think it comes down to the feature comparison and cosmetic preference. -Jon

Does the Marantz remote work with the Denon? This is an excellent and comprehensive comparison of the two units and help me select the X6800H. I would, however, like to get the Marant remote if it will work with the Denon seamlessly. Sony 7000ES is amazing tech and great sound but was worried about bugs. Onkyo RZ70 is the best amplifier section and absolute value leader. Shopped the big three any chose the Denon for channel count and HDMI reliability. I love the look of the Marantz, as receiver/amps are centerpiece in my mixed family room/Home Theater. I just could not justify the substantial price increase, especially considering I’m using external Emotiva amplifiers for five of my channels. So everybody is just gonna have to look at the ugly and cheap looking Denon.
@ripewave22 күн бұрын
As I recall when I had 2 Denon and 2 Marantz models all powered on, the same Denon remote would control both Denon AVRs and the Marantz remote would control both Marantz AVR, but would not control the other brand. They must use a unique code for each brand. -Jon
