I love watching them overcome their fear and fly, getting better each time! I always thought they would be pushed out of the nest and that moment know how to fly, I had no idea it's weeks of practice

oh yes flying is a learned thing about 2-3 weeks I think then they have to learn to hunt to go along with the flying thing

They are very active during the day. I was under the impression they were more active at night. is that true?

fledglings are active exploring their world and learning how to fly then how to hunt. The parents are close by to keep an eye on them for a while until they get the flying thing down better. From my observing of this nest it appears the parents are also active during the day as well as night time have to hunt when food is around kind of thing
