I highly recommend learning the prettiest languages ever Icelandic / Norse / Dutch / English / Norwegian / Gothic etc, which are the languages of the future, so all learners should be learning these 2gether, they are so heavenly with the prettiest words and sounds and the coolest and most modern pronunciations and aspects ever, and, Norse and Icelandic are the most alpha languages ever, definitely a must-learn for every learner, once one discovers these gorgeous languages, one wishes one would have discovered / learnt them sooner - I started learning languages on my own like one year ago, and I am already upper advanced level in Dutch and advanced level in Norwegian and upper intermediate level in Icelandic / Norse / German and mid intermediate level in French / Portuguese / Italian / Swedish and intermediate level in Welsh and upper beginner level in multiple other languages, so I highly recommend learning many easy and pretty languages, like I do, instead of only learning 1 or 2 impossible languages that don’t even sound good that one is never going to be native speaker level in, anyway, as choosing wisely is key to being a successful polyglot! Danish is one of the prettiest languages, but Icelandic / Norse / English / Dutch / Norwegian are the absolute prettiest languages ever, and this truly is an objective fact, as prettiness and great language construction and great word construction and great letter combinations and great sound combinations and pretty word endings etc are objective facts, just like the great sméłłs of fruits and flowers, and just like talent in music and skills in songwriting and pretty melodies etc, which are all facts, so all should be learning them 2gether, as they are way too pretty not to know! By the way, some of the other info is very untrue, all wøm’n are the exact opposite of cómpliments / beautiful / attractive etc, and ppl don’t even understand what things such as attraction are, which do not exist for ppl, and there is no way to ‘dethrone’ ppl as ppl are the exact opposite of kings etc, and we the Alphas (me and the pure protectors aka the alphas) are the only beings who belong on the thrones etc aka the only Royalty!

My german friend who learns russian gets a lot of comments from people saying he shouldn't learn russian after everything that happened. It's kinda wild to think about. Let's abolish great composers, writers, painters who lived centuries ago (and the language too) because modern russian government did some shit. Look at USA and NATO war crimes, lol, you will learn a lot of new stuff. What about Syria, Vietnam, Iraq, etc etc etc? Why don't we abolish english language then?

@The Queen Ah, understandable. Though it is completely reasonable for us to care more about Ukraine than say, Somalia, Ethiopia, Yemen, Sudan, etc. Ukraine is in our Hemisphere. In our area of influence. The invasion of Ukraine directly affects us Americans. If you go to Kenya, you will probably see more people talking about Somalia or Ethiopia than you would Ukraine. It's not good necessarily, but it's entirely reasonable. I, my family, and most Americans are not significantly affected by some conflicts in Somalia. In terms of war crimes, yes we have done messed up shit. But to compare our crimes to the Spanish, the British, the Germans, the Russians, the Japanese, and tons more, is simply stupid. We did bad stuff, but agree or disagree, I would say we're on the good side of history. I've always thought America should focus internally rather than externally, because at our current rate we'll be killing eachother like it's 1862 in 2024.

Absolutely hilarious and loved the last video too. Although, I’d cut Steve Kaufmann slack in comparison to all the other “polyglots”. He doesn’t use a script, often has live interviews in different target languages, doesn’t post the classic “shock native speakers in public” trope, etc… He’s just a genuinely nice old man that likes to learn languages and gives genuine advice haha. He’s also honest that he’s not fluent in all of his languages and admits that he often forget EVERYTHING he had learned in a TL if he hasn’t studied it in a while. The worst he does, honestly, is he pushes LingQ as a learning platform (of which he’s the owner). But, comparatively, the logic behind LingQ makes some pedagogical sense (specifically Krashen’s Input Hypothesis), unlike DuoLingo…

I cracked out loud when you mentioned the romantic sounds the Dutch make. I'm not Dutch and I live in the Netherlands. It's not that harsh of a language after you get used to it, though.

The most beautiful language in the world is Chuvashian (чаваш челхи) - that is my statement, even though I am half of Chuvash and I know only one word in Chuvashian - ЧИПЕР (means "bye")! BUT STIILL! Its the most beautiful language, no doubt in that

For me it is Icelandic or Irish. Italian is cool, but when you know it, it becomes less intriguing. Welsh looks like some kid made their own language and Cyrillic alphabets look cool. I have a bias towards Polish and Ukrainian because of how I was raised. Maltese is also quite cool. :)
@Andra11502 жыл бұрын
@@polska-ukrayina , well, to be fair, any language becomes less intriguing once you understand it, right? :D Welsh is really alien though

Danish 😂😂😂 Dated a danish guy when I was younger. He really wanted us to speak our native languages (I’m Swedish) with each other and I had such a hard time understanding him always sounding like a drunk Swede talking while throwing up and eating in the same time… thats how the most beautiful language on the planet sounds like 😁

As a German, I once watched an Austrian video. Wondering about the weird German dialect I couldn't recognize, but which I could understand to a good degree, I scrolled through the comments. One of them stated it was Luxembourgish, until today it was one of my most hilarious moments regarding language🤣 It seemed, many others didn't knew it was actually a language too. Sorry fellow Luxembourg people😅

"is it wrong to learn russian with what's going on?" If you're worried about learning Russian cause of Ukraine, keep in mind a lot of Ukrainians actually use Russian as their first language. Including my girlfriend, she speaks better Russian than Ukrainian. Also just speaking Russian or even being Russian doesn't mean you support war crime.

As a Russian guy learning Polish, I can not benefit in the best possible way from learning it - I can't talk shit about other people without them understanding me. I have tried saying "kurwa jebana, wypierdalaj" in the ironic manner, and people understood me. However, this is offset by the fact that the language is similar to my native one.

As a native Danish speaker, I find the stød the most beautiful part of the language. Danish is essentially a stream of small hiccups interrupted by unpronounceable (to foreigners, your pronunciation was terrible) sounds.

What a relief to hear an actually serious response to a question about Russian, thank you sir. No, sane Russians do not support this in any way and it's so much pain to us to live through all that happening to our countries. Putin should "it is" in Luxembourgish
