Our security regimes and protocols were always very tight, thorough and extensive. Also heard that IL airline flights have secret service security on them. But what's certain is that they do quite a lot, head to toe search and in depth search. Also asking you how/who packed your stuff, and more. If I'm not mistaken US and other countries in the world took some notes and training from our country about security stuff after 9/11.

BDG is an eldritch being from another world masquerading as a human and trying to understand our culture. Not to take over or anything, he just wants to know what the fuss is about. David Brian Gilbert: "Dear Parents, may I purchase glowing stars for my room to make the dark nights less frightening and to let my mind ponder about the infinite universe?" Dad: "I dunno David, are you gonna try and eat them again to make your eyes glow at night?" David Brian Gilbert: "Most certainly yes, father." Dad: "Well then the answer is no." David Brian Gilbert: "Curse you father, but at the same time have my respect for giving me boundries. I shall retreat to my room now and sulk."

Kind of. I have a buddy and his hair doesn't go down or out... But UP. It's the scariest thing. He looks like he's getting taller every week of not going to the barber this lockdown. He's several years younger, but he's miles taller than me now.

So, basically, Brians friends were really worried about him standing in 90's-land and hiding from reality, so one of them (Pat, wasn't it?) found a costume of Crash just to fit in in David's world and break it from the inside. So, basically, it's about friendship again

God, the 90s would love that speedrunning is such a thing now. I can see the time-traveling 90s kid coming to our time. The teenager that acts as his guide has sat him down in front of Fortnite, Gears 5, etc. and the 90s kid gets a melancholy smile and says "man, these games are so rad. Nobody probably even remembers the games I played." The gen-Z kid goes "nah, dude, you've got it all wrong. People still play your games, but only to BEAT THEM AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!" "Woah..." "Yeah, bruh, like here's Sonic 2 in under 19 minutes." "EXTREME!!!"

Also, the “Lets get to the airport, like, 30 minutes before our flight. Security shouldn’t be an issue.” line absolutely killed me.
