Polygondwanaland (/ˈpɒliɡɒndˌwɑːnəlænd/) is the twelfth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. The album was released under a BY-ND Creative Commons license, the band uploaded the master tapes online for anyone to freely use. The fourth of five albums released by the band in 2017, it was released on 17 November 2017.

You're right about the eastern sound, King Gizzard take a LOT of inspiration from Middle Eastern and Turkish music specifically, you can hear it on this album but you can especially hear it in their three microtonal albums. You should definitely check out the first in that series, Flying Microtonal Banana, also released 2017! Polygondwanaland is personally my 2nd favourite Gizz studio album, my #1 being Murder of the Universe (ALSO released in 2017 lol). My overall favourite release from them is actually Live in San Francisco 2016. They are definitely better live nowadays than they were back then (I saw them for the second time just last week!), but the energy on that album is just unmatched. Live At Bonnaroo 2022 is also a great live album to react to eventually and is more up to date with how they play live now. Both of those live albums also have full videos you can watch for them too. Their 'best' live albums are definitely Red Rocks '22 and Chicago '23 but they are each several hours long lol. If I'm not mistaken we should be getting "bootleg" live albums for every single show from their 2024 North American tour as well (which have also been live streamed on KZbin each night)! Anyways keep up the reactions they are a lot of fun to watch!
