I'm in the same spot after 40 years, but I'm just not up to starting over. It's taken too much out of me. I'm loving this 'string art'. Heading to part 2. Thanks Irene.

I love this idea. It got me to thinking, what if you took stamp roller over it. And then shaved it. Sorry I love playing with the metallics. I really do love this.
@TheCreativeDork5 Жыл бұрын
Stamp roller might actually look great but you'd need a contrasting color under it I think.

I totally empathise. Sometimes we stay because it’s easier than trying to face up to the alternative, even though things can be toxic or just plain empty. But you never know what’s round the corner…I found my second hubby at age 60🥰 Things are very different now. I am so sorry for your losses and glad you have something to soothe you. I found craft to be my lifesaver! Love your work and your channel and chat. 🫂😊

I’m happily divorced and still living alone (cept my husky) going on 30 years now… it’s WONDERFUL not having any drama. Take some advice from a fellow divorcee file first because you’ll have better chances to get paid what you are owed.!! 😮 I absolutely love the freedom I have I don’t have to ask anybody to spend money where I wanna spend it. I don’t have to go and come back at a certain time I don’t have to get up in the morning if I don’t wanna, I actually spoiled myself. Men are too much work for me. lol 😂
@TheCreativeDork5 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. Why is it better to file first? He wants me to file. He seems to think that if I do, he won't have to pay.

Divorced 40 years here, l have a terrier that has been my companion for years. Yes, being single, once you get used to it, is nice. I like watching the craft videos, and have done some resin and a few other things. But not having an idiot around to ruin your peace is nice. Very nice. I had to file, they think they are the victim when we get ahold of our nerve and let them know their not the most important things in our lives. Do what you have to do.

I love these colors. I bet small square extruded pieces, with each one twisted as you spin them would make a beautiful piece too. Especially with the mica shift. I’m sorry you’re going through so much now. Saying a prayer for you and your husband right now. Take care and keep your chin up. ✌🏻🤍

Soft White Underbelly was in my recommendations and I started watching it to hopefully understand addiction better. I have several family members who have lost everything because of drugs. You're right, Mark has a really good channel. I haven't watched in a while. He went to southeast Asia and was interviewing the "lady boy" ladies of the night. That was a little bit too much for me. 😂 By the way - I absolutely LOVE this project! The metallic colors are fantastic!

I like working with polymer clay like this I love making the sheets as it makes it go further, I make beads and all sorts this way, I have two paster rollers one hand turned and one electrical, the hand one does not stretch the sheets as much as the electric one, I find the electric one gives it an added patterning to my sheets, but if I don’t want it distorted I use the hand turned machine. The metallic clays give the best results, I love adding pearl white to my plan colours and then adding a touch of black to make them darker. Umm just had a thought 😏my brother had a wonderful spoilt child hood, so when he got into the drugs I was pissed off with him, the worst part was when he started steeling from my parents, in the end they changed all the locks to the house and garage and then sold up and moved interstate, he was given every chance to turn his life around. He never knew his biological father but he sure managed to follow him down the rabbit hole. Mom divorced him when my brother was still too young to remember him, my only memory of him was when he throw me across the room when I was 2-3 years old, it was one of the reasons Mom moved towards throwing him out, 2nd was all his constant fooling around with other women and 3rd was when she found drugs in his pockets when doing the washing. When he went to work she called the locksmith and had the locks changed and left all his stuff in boxes outside the front door. I have no time or patients for people who do drugs ever. I saw what it did to my biological father and my brother. After Mom passed away Dad said if I wanted to find my Father he would help, I just looked at him and said I already have a father and he’s sat right in front of me. That was 12 years ago and he’s never raised the subject of him again. I think even though I have called him Dad since my sixth birthday he was not sure because I started doing my family history he thought I would want to find him. I have an old broken potato chipper was going to throw out but will keep the blades for the machine as it could cut a block of clay into fixed sized squares.

If you don't have the block exactly parallel to the surface when making the lentils, that is what makes them oblong instead of round. Just tilt a bit to make it more parallel and it will round itself. Also if you are not rolling in good circles, that can throw it off, too.
@Reenie757 Жыл бұрын
Yea, when I use the big one I can normally get them perfect but the small one, it does tilt every time. It's hard to hold for me.

Hello, new sub here from Alabama, I have a question.... How do you get polymer clay that's hard as a brick, never opened also. To hard to knead! Any advise?
@TheCreativeDork5 Жыл бұрын
Add baby oil to it. Put in in a zip lock bag for a few days. Some times, I just scrap it. It can get to the point where it's not worth the frustration. Fimo or Sculpey?
@sheilad83 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCreativeDork5 sculpty! It was fairly hard brand new, now a few yrs old. I've never played with polymer before, I mostly dabble in watercolor painting, so I guess it's a lack of inspiration.... Until I found your channel! Thanks! I'll try your suggestion and see how it goes! Thanks again! 💜✌️💜

This might sound naive but do you really have to condition the clay to run it through the extruder? Couldn't you just take a smidge of the colors and extrude it?
@TheCreativeDork5 Жыл бұрын
Yes, you absolutely can. I just used the circle cutter so that I could make a bunch quickly. You don't need to cut them.
