hey sorry i'm really late to the party for this video but i had a question about using canes to make spherical beads. I've tried just slicing the cane and shaping the "cookie" into a ball but there's no way to avoid deformation. should I get a cookie cutter the diameter of bead that i want, roll the cane to the same diameter and just take vertical cylinders out of the cane?

Ronalyn Hurley because people have no respect. They don't realize it takes less energy to be nice and say positive things. Rather than bash other people and bring all that negative energy on themselves. They are just unhappy people.

Thank you for saying what a lot of us are feeling. I think the great majority of rude comments seem to belong to young people.{ sorry to say} As you become more wiser and mature you can see how awful you come across to others { I pray} and feel foolish and sorry for being so selfish and bratty. Only time will tell.

Thank you very much for the very instructional and inspirational video! I've watched a few different cane example videos here on KZbin but this is first one that really explained the procedure thoroughly enough for me to understand the process. I'd also like to compliment you on your camera presence, you seem very at ease in front of the TWO cameras. And by the way, this is the first time that I've seen two cameras employed here on KZbin in a tutorial so kudos for that! You seem like a very multi-talented individual and I hope that you keep on making these videos and sharing your talent with the world! Best wishes from Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA.

going to be new to polymer clay and your video was so informative it was nicely done. your work is beautiful just as you are and your voice you sound so nice and calming like a teacher. my voice is raspy for a girl and I don't like it. I would love to see more videos from you as a lot of people on here said as well. and like a lot have mentioned ppl are rude it's the internet.. if you didn't show your face to or have a steady camera or didn't explain things as good as you did they would of all complained about that.. they had nothing left to say.. if people want to see the tutorial they won't be bothered by a voice or sweater or whatever. please continue making more.. god bless and thankyou

If you're making a large piece -- like a candle holder or a small vase, for instance -- you can cut very thin slices and lay them out randomly (or in a pattern) on a plain polymer clay background and roll them into that background. In fact, you can use different sizes, too, to add another point of interest to it.

Perfect instructions, thanks! One question: how long in advance can I make the canes for use in a class with seniors? Can I cut the beads 24 hours in advance? Or is it necessary to cut the roll on the spot as needed for making beads ?

Hi, to keep the clay clean its important to keep your hands clean.... We use baby wipes to clean before use and when we change colour.... To avoid fingerprints keep your clay firm - Cernit polymer clay is good for this but fingerprints are unavoidable sometimes.... When baked give your piece a light sanding with wet n dry fine grade sandpaper, this will remove fingerprints and help polishing too!

You did an incredible job!! I can't believe the pettiness of some of the comments though. It's pretty evident that you realized you had six rolls -- or as you called them "sausages" (too cute!) .. so you set one aside to make five. And yet 'craftyangie vega' spews out "I think you need to learn to count first". Give me a break notsoCraftyAngie Vega. In any event, your work is AWESOME. Thank you so much for sharing the video with us!! :0)
