Edit: My zoomer ass offended some boomers/ older millennials with my wording. I know this has already been done to some degree. What I MEANT is that this brand of Math Rock has never been so mainstream and I would love to see them get popular enough to infect MODERN rap/trap, since it all sounds the same. Um no. Is it very skilled playing? Yes. However as someone who is 42 and listened to all sorts of bands and different styles drumming and guitars I can guarantee that you have never heard certain bands. First of all when you get about 6 minutes in to Pantera's studio version of domination, that is something that you have to turn up consistently every time that Riff starts. Then you have bands like morgion. And cradle of filth. And you absolutely cannot discount Fear Factory the remanufacture album when it comes to bass because that shit what blow you away. And you have bands like satyricon. I can go on and on. And I am not saying these things as though I'm coming down on you or anyone that enjoys this because it was good however broaden your horizons because it's all been done before many many times and a lot of people never go back and look at what started these bands. A lot of people go back and look and find other bands that they think are even more incredible than the one they previously adored. Expand your horizons
