Guys, my apologies first of all, because I abruptly disabled my reaction to "Polyphia - Playing God" on my first upload. I explain what happened during the livestream I did earlier today. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpi3mJx3iL57g5o That said, because I kinda had to redo this last-minute, the subtitles haven't been enabled yet. I will fix this as soon as possible! ;) Thx for your understanding and support! I hope you enjoy the video! ;)

You nailed the hip hop influence. Tim tends to write in a bit of an unusual way. Typically he writes melody in a DAW, embellishes it, then figured out how to play what he wrote on guitar later. After he's put together the basic melodic elements, the band works together to fill everything out. He's heavily inspired by trap, pop, and lots of other genres, which really shows is his approach to songwriting.

Polyphia react videos are pretty algorithm friendly and do well at a bar level. If you’re able to provide entertaining commentary and insight in your reactions (much like what you provide in this video), there’s a good chance your react videos will do well, so definitely react to more Polyphia! Because their music is very technical, it also attracts a crowd that enjoys analysis, so commentary in that vein may do well.

I am so glad you've discovered Polyphia! They instantly became one of my favorite bands when I first heard them. I can't pick just one song to recommend so my favorites from them are: Nightmare 40 oz. G.O.A.T. Finale Champagne
@naturaltitanium14962 жыл бұрын
This piece is truly incredible imo. Some other recommandations : GOAT, OD, 40oz, Nasty, Bad... They're incredibly interesting because you can see their style change with the different songs they put out. Tim Henson (lead guitarist) is a marvelous guitar player and has a very unique way of composing for guitar : he'll basically compose on a MIDI keyboard, and then try to figure out how to do the notes on the guitar. He has a channel where he explains a lot of stuff about this, super interesting. You definitely should check out some of his solos like Blood Moon, his part of the Biggest Shred Collab in the world III, or even his add named "Archetype : Tim Henson" for his plugin. Dope reaction as always 😉

Wanted to comment on the drums since I didn't see anything in the first bit of comments that I read. For their studio recordings, I believe they primarily use a electronic drum set, which leads alot of people top think the drums arent really being played. However, you can find tons of videos showing Clay playing these pieces on traditional sets, how insanely skilled he really is.

Wile they didn't invent it, Ibanez uses the "Tree Of Life" inlay design on a lot of their guitar necks. Really gained popularity when it was used on Steve Vai's Ibanez JEM 7 series guitars in the 80's. And those are Talman Nylon string acoustic/piezoelectric guitars that you and I cant get because they were custom built for them by Ibanez. It must be so cool to be guitar royalty like that!

In regards of their routine casual attitude while shredding,..don't you forget this is a video clip, no instrument is plugged, they just listen to the song and act as if they are play,ing...the challenge is not the same, you can be more focused on your acting then on your playing. However great musicianship here I agree.
@Ultra-Collector2 жыл бұрын
They’re playing the vocals on the guitar. For instance the beginning guitar solo in Playing God is not a guitar solo! It’s simulating a🔥azz rapper coming out hard AF and dropping the first verse! Their music is based on musicians writing ,composing and mixing all genres of music. Creating all the bass parts,vocal structures,guitar harmony’s ,hip hop rap and R&B vocals ,then playing them all at once, together on just a guitar done by one person ,or in this case ,individually buy each of the two guitar players. Polyphia simply mixes all genres of music ,their rock and rap harmonies and their vocal lyrics ,then all written,composed and played on a single guitar ,wether they’re live or in studio! It’s one man doing what a 5 piece band can barely all do together and it’s Ultra impressive to say least. Unequivocally this is next level complicated music with more emotion and structure than some give them credit for! The bottom line is It’s not just music but artistic writing and musical brilliance at some of it’s absolute finest and most genius! As a professional studio musician ,Drummer and lead guitarist I can say I both hear and feel the absolute magnificence of Polyphia! -Crisis

Check out Travis Barker, Quest Love, Yussef Dayes and some other top drummers in the hip hop/soul community. Making a hip hop beat on drums is easily done by many drummers today.
