So refreshing. I'm 55 years old. A half-assed guitar player am I. Just when you think that actual musicians are fading away, this happens. I'm just now discovering them. And already I can see that they have shattered through the ceiling. Someone else said it here in the comments and I agree. This band has carved out a new genre. But I can hear the influences. This guy Tim definitely has some Steve Vai albums in his Wurlitzer. This is awesome!

Actual musicians are fading away??? My brother in christ the music scene is BURSTING with raw talent these days. There is not a single sincere musician alive today that would consider themselves a dying breed. Polyphia are excellent, but they aren't a new genre. Instrumental rock has a long pedigree. @@mattd6085 I remember MTV's first day. I watched it. That was when NuWave was introduced to us. Not the old wave of British Rock, but a new wave from Europe. That's really cool, it's never too late to pick up guitar! Wish the best for you - don't put crazy expectations on yourself and taint the learning experience. If you aren't having fun, it isn't worth it :) GL!

Some of the lead lines feel right out of the Inspire EP. I won't lie, I really miss that sound. This is sort of a mesh between that old style and their newer more experimental work. Hope there's a heavier song more reminiscent of that era of Polyphia in the new album though.

@@aninfinitemindofmusicandreams for real, I can totally appreciate all of their catalog, but I've kinda fallen off the last few years. Looking forward to this new album

Okay I'm re-listening to the whole album, and it took me a moment to realize the song had changed from All Falls Apart, even when I've heard neurotica multiple times before. This whole album is basically one enormous song.

When I first heard this band I was playing "Nightmare" for my friend, and I said to him, "Obviously these guitarists are geniuses, but the real reason they shine like they do is because of this bassist." This song really confirms that. Every member of this band plays his part so well, and it comes together better than any other group I can think of.

As someone who grew up loving Steve Vai and owning JEMs and Euphorias, i gotta say I love the gold and white hardware on Scotty's guitar and the vines on Tim's fretboard.
