For anyone wondering why he is a little bit shocked in the video at the end- It is a particularly difficult part for the singer, because it quickly jumps large distances on the scale, and is done by a computer on the real song. Only the best singers in the world can nail this without auto-tune. It's basically the equivalent of watching a guitar player nailing the guitar solo in Freebird. It's amazing to see in real life.

Yeah her immediate range is crazy, like...when where's the vocoder mic for your synth = not here lol, guess we'll improvise!
@benodaboy Жыл бұрын
calling it computer generated isa bit unfair. its a talk box, basically someone plays a synthisiser, and as theyre playing the notes live, the sound is played out of a special speaker box with a tube. that tube goes back up into the players mouth and they mouth the words, using their palate to create a vicelike tone, while playing the notes on the synth. - but yeah she's impressive
@justingilbone6386 Жыл бұрын
@@benodaboy You're describing what Peter Frampton used to do with his guitar. They did not use a tube in the mouth for this daft punk song. That's 70's technology. And the notes are not coming out of the person. they are coming out of the keyboard- therefore- computer generated.

@@birdsong2552 I would say you're probably right about fuzz into filter, but in my experience it doesn't sound quite like that. My best guess is that it's fuzz into filter with the filter running into another fuzz or distortion, because you still hear some hairiness within the filter sweeps. Filters generally clean up a lot of the hairiness of a dirt box. Or it's just some kind of digital weirdness.

@@RWEaurelius He is right. This is not the best song to show her "vocal skills." It would've been better if her voice was autotuned (voice boxed) to shit like the OG song. I don't really like this cover of the song. Sure, her voice is better than a normal human being's, but it would be really plain if the backing vocal wasn't there.

It is a "thing"& I don't exactly know why. Many who do it are from a jazz or blues singer background & it just adds some body movement to their art. Maybe it helps them focus & feel more free and when the singer(s) are good, I like it...

@@thebosshu no... he really doesn't.
