This old gearhead loves what y`all do, Uncle Bob, Lucore auto, SRC, OMG, Gen2Garage Jimmy Dale, and you Austin. Hoping you put a nice camshaft in the build, Isky cams and hydraulic roller lifters come to mind😁(psst...ask Bill H.) You can tell Uncle Bob really, really wants to rip the 1/4 mile! Love it, wish I could. Please get those 411 gears in the 70 LeMans. Should be pretty rowdy. I wish I still had my 1st car/build. Base 70 2dr Nova, 307/powerglide/one legger... transformed into a budget 350 that I port matched, the heads and had heads decked, bigger than stock cam, headers 4 speed Muncie with 411 posi and Cragar SS rims(showing my age there🤣) with a satin black paint job.. I was 20, and the Baltimore County Police did NOT like my car. Headers and cherry bomb mufflers might be the reason why. She was LOUD!🤣 Inspection tickets and excessive spinning wheels tickets out the wazoo. Good times, 46 years ago. I really miss that car. Stay safe all, God Bless.

IM HERE FOR IT ALL!!!!! Watching a like minded gent doing similar things with not exactly the same build, but doing it ourselves and loving every minute of it. Enjoying the almost heat stroke and sleep deprived nights and ridiculously long work days to do what we love. Yes sir!!! I am here for all of it!!!

Well thank you, glad to hear you are grinding along as well! This is certainly a passion, and something you do because you love it not because you're going to make boatloads of money at it.

HOWdy Austin, ... I'm glad parts progress has been made ! Coop ...

Me too! This was the last hurdle to get the short block moving forward, now we can actually start making some progress not just spending money on parts!

Does not look very interested, VERY Busy Man!

We (I) am definitely fortunate he's willing to take on this project at all, he's a busy busy man especially with all the SRC/OMG stuff. This won't be a "set the world on fire" motor but it should still be fun and interesting to see how it turns out!

In the grand scheme of things that man has on his plate a "regular Joe rebuild" of a 350 HO Pontiac isn't super exciting I'm sure. He's definitely looking forward to getting some seat time in the car and making some passes though I promise you that! (even though he may not show it)

You could have bought a TRW Pistons
@AutomotiveAdventuresWithAustin2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately they aren't/weren't available. Looking at that part number right now they are backordered until next YEAR (3/18/25). No one really builds Pontiac 350 stuff unfortunately so no one makes parts

Stock A body rear suspension with slicks!? Every A body I ever drove was a tire hopping mess! All of them needed something to keep the rear end under control like a set of ladder bars(it was 1983 tho....)

Can’t wait to see how the 455 does with them low gears !!! Have fun

One of the Pontiac guys is selling me some heads at the nationals, so now I need to roll down there. If I pull the 68 down, we might have to line up and see how many lengths I have to give you at the NNN. 4.11s will slow the 455, guess how I know. :) Might be easier to get it to hook up on street tires though, it won't spin them as hard.

Torque engines like to pull against the gears not just freely spin up.

Love your channel! You might want to let your builder tell you when he’s ready for you…I’ve found it’s better… he obviously wants to help you!
@AutomotiveAdventuresWithAustin2 ай бұрын
Oh I gave him a call once I had everything in hand, I didn't just spring in on him ;) He's about an hour away from the shop so that's more than just a "drop in" kind of thing. But he's undoubtedly a busy busy man!

I’m nnot trying to be mean or anything Austin but I don’t see any content value in watching two guys discuss their summer plans. Again, I’m still watching either way to get your CPM and Ad’s 💵but please consider a new viewer watching this video wondering why he’s going to subscribe 🤷♂️
