Thank you thank you thank you I was thinking it was a fuel pump issue. I’ve been driving for two months without changing the embarrassment when the Grand Prix would shut off at a red light I had to rev rev each crank this was super simple thank you again

Ok. You get a cardboard cookie! I've been fighting my 2005 GT2 for two days! Scanned it, got the code, have the factory (Helm) service manuals. Local Stealership had ONE in stock, got one closer from NAPA. That bolt was a PITA! It fought me all the way out! I was afraid it was going to take the threads out of the intake! Anti seize on that one going back in. And the Helm manual is WRONG about how to get that evap QD off! I should have watched your vid first! So, I got it all back together and cleared the code. Waiting for the next "Gremlin". BTW I have a 1999 GTP that has ~70,000 miles on and the GT2 has almost 30,000. ;)

@@jefferson88888 Hell yeah it did! I'm a retired Mechanical Engineer and have been wrenching since I was 10 or so. Can't count how many errors in factory documentation I've found. Now if I can just find the dental pick I used to open that QD...

Is this for a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP also ? It gave me the code p0442 and I was told this is the most common reason.

Yes, it should be.. 2004-2008 are all the same, as long as it's the V6.

Will the evap make your car stall or cut off when it’s goin out ??

My 2007 Grand Prix gt would start but would fall dead if I didn't press the gas. My buddy unplugged the purge valve and started it right up. I went and had it checked and it gave me the P0443 code. My question is would this make the car fall dead after it warms up? Thanks for any advice.

Yes it could. Replace the purge valve (they are cheap) and clear the codes.

Engine light is still on why? Do I need to reset it somehow?

Yes, you'll have to reset the CEL in the ECM. If you do not have a scan tool, the easiest way is to disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 min and then reconnect. The CEL should then be off and the code will be gone.

my hose isnt shaped to solenoid. its a regular splice of hose. is that gonna be a problem? it fits fine. whats purpose of the special tips on these ive been seeing.?

Shouldn't be. The OEM hose connection serves to lock the hose onto the nipple. A normal hose and clamp could also be used.
