Liv, you might consider leaving some items in your trunk for traction ballast. A tool tote or bag placed as far back as possible in the trunk might do you good.
@79tazman7 ай бұрын
She can get traction by cleaning the tires with a small burnout and lower the PSI a bit in the tires. Just because they are hard tires does not mean a burnout and playing with air pressure is not required. I leaned these things when I first started racing. It's something you don't need to do on hard tires but it's a night and day difference when you do it

you should try lowering the air pressure in the back tires a little softer tire will grip better the a hard tire. it will help the wheel hop issue. too bad you don't have front adjustable shocks to help get the nose to go up to send the weight back to help traction

I didn't like that track. It looked like it had an incline at the end and a curve. You never looked in trouble to me. Big Wave is a forgiving soul. Good job you had a suspension that kept you out of trouble. I'm all about using the racing slicks myself anyway. The '66 Nova run was almost John Force worthy.
@79tazman7 ай бұрын
All you have to do is really spin the tires you don't have to do a full "Burnout" with smoke all you need is a small burnout to clean the tires off but it's good to do it every time but you don't have to do a big smoky burnout like you would if you were running slicks or radials

You should do a little burnout that way it cleans the tires off so you don't have the tires full of dirt and rocks that's why many hard tires cars do burnouts it's not to get them hot it's to clean the crap off the tires that way you have better traction then if you tires have dirt and rocks on them
@GnarlySpeedShop7 ай бұрын
I did do a burnout before that pass, we just didn't have footage

You let the motion of the car cause you to move the steering wheel left, right, left right and so forth after it got loose. Don't do that! You would have lost it if you were moving fast. Hopefully you learned something from that mistake.

Now look here, Missy. If I'm gonna have your back, that doesn't mean it's time for your best "Roscoe P. Coaltrain in hot pursuit" impression, savvy?? Daniel-San freaked but good - and I wound up with a skid mark in my britches!! Super Dave Osborne would have been proud, God Bless and Keep him. Seriously though, you've got some pretty good reflexes, so the balance was there - I'll wager it looked a lot worse than it actually was. If nothing else, you veered AWAY from the other lane. My dear, this is what is known as a "greasy" driving condition. You had a thin layer of dirt on your tread; just enough to interfere with traction, once water gets involved. Think of it as a warm-weather equivalent to hitting a patch of black ice - greasy tires don't hook any better than icy ones do. That's what put you sideways, and the jouncing likely was the track compound breaking through the film at odd moments, giving tiny bursts of hook instead of the continuous grip you needed. Here in Cornhusker land, our county roads are a mixture of sand and pea-gravel; it only takes about five days without rain before the dust starts accumulating in layers, just waiting for a bit of moisture. And when the H20 finally does arrive, it's a real slip-and-slide adventure for the first half hour or so, until the greasy is fully emulsified, and no longer a pain in the ol' vertical smile. Since I drive on the rocks for two miles at the beginning and end of my commute five days a week, I'm more than a little bit blas`e about the phenomenon, but I can easily sympathize and empathize with the terror one might endure if they're not familiar with the situation themselves. The best thing about it all is that you safely rode it out like a trouper. Big Wave's bulk came in handy, too - think what that ride would have been like if you were piloting something that weighed around 2800 pounds like a Chevy Monza, or whatever. Okay, I'll shut up for now - but not before declaring that you owe Daniel-San a good back rub, and me a two-gallon pitcher of Colortini's!! {And I'm sure Danny will give you a back rub as well}. Y'all know the drill; safe, fun, 10-Q for content, blah-blah, woof-woof, Yadda-Yodda {sic}, Excelsior!!! Rest up and hit a hot tub ASAP. Couldn't hurt.😎 Cheers!!!
