Like a lot of people, I was also surprised and curious about her wiping toner over her face after the mask. But now that I think about it and checked out the products she uses, it makes sense. Since the function of toning is to re-balance the skin's pH levels and prepare it for the next step, she technically tones twice; before and after the mask. First is with the facial mist; although not a toner by definition, Esthederm Cellulaire water mist is a multi-function spray which mainly consists of hyaluronic acid, which, as a humectant, is ideal for pre-mask use. She then uses Puristry Flower Water Toner, which unsurprisingly, also has hyaluronic acid in it as well other soothing botanicals, therefore preparing her skin once more for her final moisturiser which is meant to lock everything in. I think she used the swipe as opposed to a spray-method toning to remove any residue that might be uncomfortable if it's sitting under a final layer of moisturiser. And lastly, since a mask sits on the face for 15-30 minutes, there would be sufficient time for its nutrients to be absorbed so it's not like she's wiping away the mask. A single cotton swipe with some hyaluronic acid on it would not wipe away the "goodness" of a serum which, short of washing your face with cleanser, should be properly locked in by then.
@olieroybal67305 жыл бұрын
Patti La Beefe i was wondering about this! thank you for explaining
@itha53635 жыл бұрын
make sense since she use mousturizing toner . i use my exfoliant toner before mask
@teagown5 жыл бұрын
I also saw other comments explaining that the toner wipes away excess serum from the mask, because in more humid climates like South Korea the excess product takes longer to absorb into the skin and if it sits on top of the skin it will cause breakouts while also making it more difficult for her moisturizer to penetrate into her skin and have any effect. Humidity is a big thing for skincare.
@三-z8i5 жыл бұрын
I can’t believe I read all of this.
@jamsnbutters71325 жыл бұрын
Does the serum change pH of the skin? Toner is really drying, won't it just reverse the effect of the serum.....she uses face masks 3 times a week, maybe that's why it's ok for here to apply toner, but is it really suggested for people doing it only once in a while?

Eh... only a small percentage of the korean population is born with pale skin. Most of them are yellow or tan colored. But, the beauty standard is white so these types of Koreans are put on pedestals and the rest use a lot of plastic surgery and whitening agents to get the look. Don't be jealous of a lie.
@gianjacobofilan59215 жыл бұрын
@@maverickbull1909 She means the skincare, princess. Not everyone in Korea undergoes plastic surgery or skincare but almost everybody shown in the media has perfect glass skin. For example, Kim Taehyung of BTS doesn't have the most perfect skin and he embraces his golden tan skin and Jungkook has had some trouble with acne.
@drmosaddegh5 жыл бұрын
Gian Jacob Ofilan um???? i find it really rude and ignorant that you said that v doesn’t have “the most perfect skin” because he’s slightly tanned. he’s not even “golden” like you said he is, he’s not even tanned that much, just darker than the pale skin the korean standards expect him to uphold. and he doesn’t embrace it, he literally tries to prevent further tanning and tries to get lighter because lol. you’re being colorist. if you weren’t, you wouldn’t have said that about taehyung and refered to his complexion. what is perfect skin? that’s subjective. i believe his skin is perfect, because it’s clear and glowing.

Wow It's really amazed me on how people have so many opinions on her skincare routine when everything she did is the right or should I say perfect steps/ways to do Korean skincare. Can you guys just be like "ahh so that's how Korean do their skincare" I mean guys...she's been in beauty field for long enough to know what she's doing. If not why would Harper's BAZAAR even have her in their channel 😅 Korean was known for having really nice glowy almost flawless skin for a reason. So please don't flaunt your ignorance and chill guys.
@thenekomimi38566 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't go as far as to say it's THE perfect skincare routine. Everyone's skin is different and has different needs. Some steps sometimes need to be modified for the individual's skin. While this is a good starting point to skincare, it's not for everyone.
@taeyeonkim72856 жыл бұрын
The Nekomimi It is the perfect Korean skincare routine. And I'm aware that people do indeed have different types of skin. But that has nothing to do with with this routine. People use DIFFERENT PRODUCTS for different skin types/different needs/different budgets and not the steps. Even myself instead using foam cleanser l used no foam gel based cleanser (Enzyme Cleansing Gel) with the exact steps/routine she did. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@dandanz18216 жыл бұрын
You’re totally right. I’m often amazed how different our skin care routine can be different with western people. And how different they are about cleansing oil and sheet mask. A lot of people are still not educated about cleansing oil and face masks, it’s not like in Asia, literally everybody uses cleansing oil/balm and sheet masks.

0:34 , 1:10 I think this 2 parts have errors at translating. Pony said "무리 없이" and it means without giving stimulus for skins. But in this video , I think editor thought that Pony said "물 없이", so editor translated pony's word as "without water".

4:55 she didn't remove her lenses during the whole video 🤨 Anyway, this Korean skin care routine is perfect, I have a preference for SUGU mask and Nature Republic foam cleaning.

Yeah I noticed that too. Taking contact lenses out after putting oil all over her cuticles with a well moisturized face is not ideal. It's important to have clean hands when doing so. Taking contact lenses out before sleeping is hygienic. My eyes are important to me than pretty skin. It would have been more genuine to take out here huge iris colored contacts, but I guess vanity was more important for her 😂.

Using oil as a cleanser is a great thing. I keep using one for around half of a year. Now my skin is less oily, pores are cleaner and smaller, because skin keeps oiled externally, so it doesn't need to produce that much sebum. I highly recommend this in your skin care. :)
