Have used various racks including the new predator rack. Can purchase a few magic or accu racks for a portion of the expensive racks. And I can rack the magic rack as quick as any predator rack. For cost and tightness of rack, accu or magic rack my choice. But JMO.

The aerorack orientation is the whole point, and is actually the reason I bought the rack. The hardest part of racking is not hitting the spot, but getting the balls lined up perfectly on angle (which helps with a consistent break, esp in 9 ball - wing ball). If you draw a "t" on your table, the aerorack markings give you the perfect alignment tool for getting that 0 angle offset you want.

Great video. I followed your advice on break cues and went with the 25 oz which raised a lot of eyebrows. A week later everyone on the team is using it and making way more balls. I seem to be the only who hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet but I’m sure I just need more reps. It’s amazing how quickly they were all won over haha

Glad to hear it! Yeah I actually just bought a radar system and ran my tests again and the conclusions were consistent. A heavy cue can definitely feel strange but all my data says it's worth getting used to.

@@PoolandBilliards My team have gone from making a ball on the break 1 in 3 times to making a ball or more 3 in 4 times just from changing the cue. The only downside is a player from a rival team is now convinced enough to buy one, so I will have to try and keep it quiet in future. The only issue I personally seem to have is the butt is quite slick so I might need to get a silicone slip on grip to make it more consistent.

@@LeeH688 I have my BK set up at 19.5 ozs. At that weight I can still get max speed and a solid weight. If when you hit the cue ball and your follow through is not great the the heavier cue for sure. My wife uses a 25 oz break cue and it works great for her. As for myself I lose about 2 mph on my break and I'm usually around 22.5 mph. As your break develops I think you will scale it back to at least 21 ozs. But you only want to hit them as hard as you can control the accuracy, So solid is the key! Good luck!

@@jasonjohnson35When I can convince my wife that we can drop a grand on a break cue I will get a BK Rush for sure. For now the 100 dollar heavy hitter will have to do haha

A con to the Aerorack that was not mentioned - especially for straight pool players - is that when the last ball ends up close to the rack but not in the rack, the thickness (width) of the rack interferes with the racking process proportionately (how often it happens) with the thickness of the rack.

Good review I would have liked to have seen your thoughts on the diamond rack. They also have a plastic rack that I used in Vegas and I liked it so much I bought one.

I actually mention it very briefly at the end as a rack I didn't get to review but I predict is probably the best value. Probably not as handsome as metal racks but for $35 it makes a perfect rack for way less money. If you have a chance, maybe your could try to mimic my rating system for your diamond rack and give it a score?

I think portability would have been a good category to include.
@PoolandBilliards
@PoolandBilliards Жыл бұрын
That was actually part of my original list, but when I ended up going to compare them they are all just big honking triangles. Other than the magic rack they seemed about the same so I thought it would be pointless as a rating. And I wasn't sure if the magic rack is more portable or less portable because you kind of need something to carry it in which is just like another thing to handle. But yeah portability is something to consider but in the end I felt that was a level playing field for all.

just can't believe the prices of the upper end racks here... the delta 13 select is $345.39 canadian right now on amazon, the predator is $100 us ($140 cdn plus shipping). i have the magic rack but it takes longer to set up, so kind of annoying over all... i'll stick with the solid plastic racks for under $20. It works and is very solid and durable.

Look into the Diamond rack I didn't review but mention briefly - bulky and plastic, but excellent in function in the palatable $30-40 range.

How many people told you that you were using the cheap plastic rack upside-down?
@PoolandBilliards
@PoolandBilliards Жыл бұрын
That'd be zero so far but fair enough. I see people use them both ways, I feel that way gives more space for my fingers, but maybe the other side would be more rigid.
@davidsiltz
@davidsiltz Жыл бұрын
@@PoolandBilliards I was advised to put the flat side down because the sides are kinda tapered and so it's easier to remove it without disturbing the balls. I have seen it both ways, but mostly with the flat side down.

My predator rack has constant gaps. 1 always rolls no matter how tight I put my fingers on the back side. Wish I would have I just got the delta elite

Could be your balls. Have you tried a different rack yet? I got an aerorack about 6 months ago, but it racks super tight every time. Like he was saying in this video, when held tight from the back, the balls are tight enough none of them roll.
