I have pavers now and they are a lot of maintenance to keep looking good. Weeds grow through and lot of work to get back looking decent. With concrete you can just power wash, with pavers you have to power wash, fill joints with polymeric sand and seal. Nice video

Or install the pavers the proper way with a 4 inch concrete base instead of gravel and sand.

I like the 2 minutes- love how your videos are short. Don’t change.

Really like and appreciate your videos. One suggestion, get rid of the two minute schtick. You always cover your material concisely anyways. So the two mins seems arbitrary plus setting the timer etc is just filler in the video. You dont ramble on to begin with so removing it would really streamline your presentation to even better than it already is. Keep up the great work

Thanks for the feedback Jason...yeah...the Two Minutes in the Pool is probably coming to an end soon. The series has had a good run and served many. It started as a way to help people get their answers quickly and thoroughly and folks said they liked the format...Thanks for watching and for the kind words.

I love your videos--they're always informative and concise. We're considering materials to use on our pool deck and the installer said that stamped concrete would be too slippery for a deck. Is there some other process that can be done to reduce the slipperiness?
@RiverPools4 жыл бұрын
Great question Nancy Grisel! The alternative to stamped would simply be textured concrete. Basically, the same s pattern stamping process, but there is no dye or sealer used. You get the texture/pattern look of stamped, but retain the traditional gray concrete color. It can really upgrade the look of the deck without becoming slippery due to a sealer👍

Which would you do on your home?

It really depends on the look I’d be going for. All are very good materials to choose from.

Can you do concrete underneath and pavers on top?

Pavers over concrete is a rock solid pool deck!

Who is going to steal the stamped concrete slabs? I think my parent's swimming pool deck was built with six-(6) or eight-(8) slabs - it would take a lot of effort for someone to steal them. Thank you for sharing your comparison of types of swimming pool decks. If interested in providing advice and recommendations, please review My Swimming Maintenance playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLGVI8bUyFEzpt5Ezt31wy1SBgv1pqu1g_&si=8GZWkd4Ru5zi7Ls4 and My Project Drainage Slope kzbin.info/aero/PLGVI8bUyFEzppZxArORD76uXUIGOtOEr2 Geez Louise, I cannot find a contractor willing to repair/restore my parent's swimming pool; consequently, I have become a "Novice DIY Guy"! In my research of swimming pool maintenance and repair, I don't think our swimming is in despair as I once thought. I have so many DIY Projects ahead of me because I cannot find contractors willing to do the job(s). I am concurrently working on the swimming pool and surrounding ground [I plan to plant new sod]. I think it was 10 to 15 years ago we had record tropical storms with record rain showers and flooding - this is when the pool deck shifted and cracked in a few of the deck slabs. I also have a Swimming Pool Caulking/Mastic/Sealant Project ahead of me. In 2015, my Father and I applied crack repair sealant to the swimming pool: we did a lot of the joints on the pool deck, on the coping area just above the tiles and in the skimmer. I pondering on laying paver bricks flush with the perimeter of the pool deck; therefore I won't have to edge the pool deck as often. I am pondering on whether or not I should paint and seal the edge of the pool deck slabs? The Swimming Pool Builders and Brick Paver companies want to essentially demolish the swimming pool and rebuild for $$$$$$.

The best option is to pour a 4 inch concrete pad and glue pavers to it. No weeds or settling. Using gravel and sand for a base is always a bad idea
