Salt systems do make chlorine
@CN-ir1xm4 жыл бұрын
Hello, I don't have a question about salt cells but about how to get rid of organic stains from leaves . Thanks for any advice.
@carloscarpinteyro3324 жыл бұрын
Superchlorinate the pool, the stains should disappear within a few days. Eucalyptus trees are notorious for staining.
@CN-ir1xm4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. When you say super chlorinate how much chlorine is super? Thanks again for the advice.
@carloscarpinteyro3324 жыл бұрын
@@CN-ir1xm That depends on the size of your pool, and the amount of staining. Is the staining re-occuring, or is it abating? In my experience with taking care of pools, here in Arizona, April is one of the most challenging months, with new blossoms on the trees proliferating, and the wind seems to blow almost continually. An example, say you have a 20k gallon pool, I'd shock it with liquid chlorine. Liquid is instantanous, and goes directly to the bottom of the pool, unless you pour the chlorine into the pool filtration return lines. I'd put at least 2-3 gallons in. That is why, as Ken has mentioned most poolmen don't like salt systems, they can't adapt to changing situations like, what you mentioned. I prefer to resort to the old-fashioned manual method of putting chlorine in the pool. Liquid chloring has a pH of about 13-14 (extremely alkaline.) Moniter your pH, keep it within 7.2-7.6 range so that the hypochlorous acid portion of the liquid chlorine will be more effective at oxiding bacteria. Have your filter running longer hours. In my opinion D.E. (diatamaceous earth), filters are the best, and sand the worst, in my mind 1940's technology. Hope that my lenthy explanation helps you, and others here!

HAY DUDE CAN I ELEMINATE THE SALT WATER SYSTEM FOR AN INTEX & STILL USE THE SAME SYSTEM?
@PoolSchooler Жыл бұрын
Is this for a above ground pool?
@donnalivingston5817 Жыл бұрын
YES IT IS
@PoolSchooler Жыл бұрын
@@donnalivingston5817 unfortunately, I’m not sure. If your above ground pool is plumbed that way it is in the video that my answer was probably yes. I will look into it though and do a follow up video on that.

Can you place an in-line chlorine feeder in the pace of the cell?
@PoolSchooler2 жыл бұрын
Not sure. I'm not a fan of inline chlorine feeders. I'd stick with the cell bypass. If you're converting back to chlorine then I'd suggest a floating tablet holder. Inline chlorine feeders don't last and when they start to deteriorate (plastic and chlorine/acid etc corrosive lead to decomposing of the plastic and seals) you get leaks, and then you have a bunch of holes in your plumbing that you have to somehow plug. Keep it simple.

Do salt pools have any benefit, When salt systems are so expensive?
@jfiedler23864 жыл бұрын
Only real benefit is softer water, if you use the pool alot or don't feel like buying chlorine monthly
@CN-ir1xm4 жыл бұрын
I do like the feel of the salt water but have to agree salt systems can be a pain.
@mayorb33664 жыл бұрын
If you like the feel of a salt pool, there's nothing wrong with adding salt to a traditional chlorine pool. Salt systems are one of the most misunderstood (by buyers) and misrepresented (by sellers) things in the pool world. Many service guys convert their pools back to normal once problems start popping up. It makes life easier on everyone.

I’ve got a customer that went back to traditional chlorine pool.. cell is still left in place house currently being sold. I guess if new owners keep me I’ll suggest removing it.. Are you still staying busy Ken? Lost any accounts due to covid-19?

I'm still staying as busy as usual. Haven't lost any clients so far. I know it's rough financially and emotionally on everyone. But so far we're managing.

@@aarocep7145 But most companies that sell "cells" also sell a bypass sleeve to replace the cell if you choose to no longer use it. Here's a video I did on that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnrCoGyer8qDmbs

Going back to salt cell because chlorine prices has gone up 300% in 2022.
