Not cleaning it or sanding first ?

Thank you much for this video!! I was going to pay someone to fix it but now I will just do it myself!! Thanks again. My pool slide looks like yours did. Question though... Did you sand it at all first??

There is no such thing as water slide paint where I am. I used rustoleum painters touch 2X ultra cover in gloss Brilliant Blue. Came out amazing...

Did you sand or buff first? Ours is in rough shape I need to do the same!

Adie Reid no we didn’t, all we did was spray the slide down with the hose and then we spray painted it with 3 cans of water proof spray paint that is meant for pool slides. We got the spray paint from Home Depot.

Fiberglass slides in this shape don't need paint, they need gelcoat. If they are just faded, buff them out. A cheap buffer from HF will work fine if you haven't done this before but be patient , there is a learning process.

Thanks for the advice!

so you buff them with a pad?
@mss1227 Жыл бұрын
An orbital buffer. If you don’t have one a $39.00 one from Harbor Freight will do just fine. Don’t forget the compound.

@@mss1227 oh okay so you just buff it with a caranuba wax like a car and thats it?

Looks amazing! I want to repaint my slide too! Can you tell me if how many coats you used? How long did you wait before using the slide? What paint you used and where you bought it. Thanks!
@poppinp3arl9153 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We used 3 cans of water proof spray paint that is meant for water slides. We waited 24 hours, but it didn’t take that long to try we just wanted to be on the safe side. We also bought the spray paint from Home Depot.

@@poppinp3arl915 Thanks for the info. I am going to try to re paint my slide too! I will check Home Depot for the paint. How has it held up this summer? Are you finding any chipping, bubbling etc.? I live in Canada so we have some hot days in summer and super cold winters. I am hoping this lasts a few of seasons. Do you have any advice or suggestions before I try to repaint. Thanks again! You guys are awesome.

Anna Lam we live in the Palm Springs area so the summers are pretty brutal with 120 F degree summers and our slide has held up wonderfully! There is no bubbling or chipping and it looks like we just painted it. I can imagine if you repaint your slide it will be in great condition since you live in Canada and I’m assuming the summers are not nearly as hot as ours 😅. I’m not too sure how well the paint will hold up during the winter because we recently painted it during the summer but I can always do an update video on our slide once it gets colder. My recommendations for the paint lasting longer is to do as many coats as you can with the spray paint and to ask for the water resistant paint at Home Depot. Sorry for the lengthy reply I’m just trying to help as much as I can 😊

@@poppinp3arl915 Glad to hear that the paint job is holding up well in the hot weather. You guys are so lucky to have beautiful weather year round :) An update later on would be awesome. I am going to try to get mine done in the next week or two and let you know how it goes. Thanks for all your tips and help!

What makes it so slippery? Just the paint?
@proxemiafpv57463 жыл бұрын
Looks good! Is it smooth now your slide looked real rough and the end result looked like it was so slick he al,oust fell off going down! We have a slide in bad shape but doesn't look as bad as yours did. What did you guys do and what materials? Thanks!
@flyingpopsicle1003 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Our slide is really smooth now! At first there was a lot of fiberglass, but once we covered it with the waterproof spray paint it completely changed texture. The only thing we used was 3 cans of waterproof spray paint we didn’t need to buff out the paint or anything!

Looks great, guys, but you can't tell me that slide wasn't prepped b4 spraying.
@flyingpopsicle1003 жыл бұрын
Thank you, in all honesty the only thing we used was the 3 cans of spray paint.

Hi, it’s called pool side spray paint by rust oleum? Is that the name or the color?
